Cheap but Entertaining for the Kids
This is very poorly made. The bottom piece and all the shape pieces are cheap foam, and the plastic pegs don't stay in the holes very well. Nonetheless, my preschooler and toddler love it and have had loads of fun sorting the shapes and colors. It's not worth the money as far as quality, but to me it was worth the money for keeping my little ones distracted and learning at the same time!

Awesome toy for infants...great seller
These blocks are a GREAT toy for our daughter. She was about 16 months old when they arrived. It is a great toy for hand eye coordination. It is also great because the blue mat is flexible/chew-able, as are the shapes. The posts are wooden. This really is a great toy. Not the cheap (and unhealthy?) plastic that you see so much of these days in the big retailers. I would recommend this for any parent of a 1yr-3yr old.

Worth A Try
When I first got this, I was ready to send it back. The foam shapes are the perfect target for a teething toddler. I was convinced it would not hold up a week. To my surprise, my 19 month old LOVES this! He will sit and play with it for several minutes at a time, which is a huge accomplishment for his age. I only give this 4 stars, as I'm not a fan of the material/construction, but for the price, you can't go wrong.

I'm sure that this toy would be very educational and probably would be for a lot of toddlers, but not my 2-year-ols grandson. Actually using it is a challenge since the pegs pull out so easily he doesn't use it in the way it is intended. Instead of putting the shapes on and taking them off, he pulls out the whole peg, shapes and all, defeating the whole purpose of the toy. To salvage this, I tried using a good glue product but that didn't work. Plan B is to try a glue gun and see how that works out. Plan C is to buy him one in which the pegs do not come out. Didn't want to have to do that but I think that's what's coming. I'll let you know...
Well, I got out my handy glue gun and went to work. This time it took him a little longer to pull out the pegs, but out they came!! This is fine if your child likes to put the pegs back in, but for my grandson, it's a no go. I'll be buying another product. Sigh.

I really wish these were made of something more sturdy. they are light and a material that some kids (like my son) just HAVE to chew on. Also the foam board that the pegs go into is very flimsy too, and the pegs keep falling out.
**EDIT** We've had this for about 7 months now, and my son still loves it and plays with it fairly often. The foam IS actually sturdier than I originally thought, although it does still feel cheap, it has held up very well. Updating my review to 4 stars.

Great for sorting colors and shapes
Great for sorting colors and shapes. Well made. The pegs easily come out of the rectangular piece and can be placed back in random order. We enjoy!

They are able to place the pegs in the holes and place the sturdy foam shapes onto the wooden pegs themselves
I use this in my daycare with 1-3 year olds. They are able to place the pegs in the holes and place the sturdy foam shapes onto the wooden pegs themselves. They enjoy playing with it, and most of them sort the pieces either by shape or by color. I keep it on a shelf and use it as a supervised table time activity so the pieces don't end up missing.

I bought this toy for my 2 1/2 year old grandson to play with on a long car trip. I liked the soft foam pieces for the car. He liked to sort the shapes in various ways - by color, by shape, or just randomly. The pegs are easy to put in and remove, but were a bit frustrating for little hands to put them in by himself, hence only 4 stars. Other than that, lots of fun and educational value in this toy.

18 month old LOVES this
My baby really loves this toy! She's just starting to be able to identify "star" and "heart," but I think this will help her with circle, square, and triangle when she's ready. Other reviewers are right -- it is a little tricky to get the shapes off of the peg without me holding the platform steady for her - but it's not as hard as I thought it would be because the holes are bigger than the pegs. She also likes to put them onto other options...the top of a plastic spoon, etc. The dogs are eyeing the pieces jealousy so I see some canine (as well as human) teeth marks in their future... but the colors are vibrant and the texture is really soothing too!
