After seeing our neighbor’s success with keeping deer out of their garden using the Easy Gardener 6050 DeerBlock Netting as a fence material, I decided to order two rolls for protecting our vegetables and flowers from deer on our property.
The 6050 DeerBlock Netting kept the deer out of the garden area until the deer decided that there was something worth eating on the other side of the netting. (The flowering plants were developing flower heads and some of the vegetables were getting ready to pick.) The deer went through several areas of the fence, and our garden was demolished overnight!
Easy Gardener makes two types of deer fencing that are available here on BTA-MALL, this 6050 DeerBlock netting, and a “beefier” (more expensive) product:
Easy Gardener LG400171 Deer Barrier Fencing ( Easy Gardener LG400171 7-by-100-Foot Deer Barrier Fencing
I ended up replacing this weaker/ less expensive 6050 DeerBlock with the stronger/ thicker LG400171 Deer Barrier as fence material. The deer have not gotten through the Deer Barrier fenced area (yet).
Used as “Bird Block”
Our vegetable and flower gardens are planted in a combination of direct sewn seeds and transplants. The birds don’t bother with the larger transplants, but they really enjoy eating some of the emerging seedlings (carrot sprouts are one of their favorites).
We have had good results preventing birds from wiping out emerging seedlings by using this weaker/ less expensive 6050 DeerBlock draped over newly direct seeded garden areas.
Based on our experience, I would recommend this 6050 DeerBlock for use as Bird Netting, but not for deer protection, as it was an epic fail for keeping the deer out of our garden.

I bought this to build a porch kennel for my cat, so he could go outside anytime he wanted. It worked great. See my picture.
I would buy this again.

Perfect for protecting the garden
I read a lot of reviewers having issues with tearing but I can honestly say that we've had zero problems with this netting and are very happy with it. I set it up with just four metal stakes surrounding our 10'x4' garden bed and it has kept out deer, bunnies, our dog, and our kids. Plus it's basically invisible so it doesn't look junky at all.
We didn't create a door so when I go in to weed I just unhook it from the loose ends of the zip ties on the open end and let it fall open. It hooks back up with no issue and no tearing so far. I water right through the net with the shower setting on my hose. Easy peasy and no deer eaten crops! Now, if I could just get rid of the slugs...

Works great to keep my free-range chickens out of the tomatoes
Works great to keep my free-range chickens out of the tomatoes . That's all. Any pest that wants in will get in. My tiny dogs run into it because it's nearly invisible. But it is worth mending the fragile netting to watch them bounce off the barrier and be completely confused as to what just happened. Not kidding just the act of putting this stuff up can tear huge holes in it. If you can move slow and carefully it's fine but it's not exactly a project I would ask my husband to do.
One major drawback of this product is it has killed 3 of my local rat snakes. The poor buggers get stuck in it and die all tangled and miserable. I was able to save a few but if I use this next year I'm going to raise it off the ground a few inches to help my little friends stay safe.

An extra layer of protection for your chicken or duck pen
We actually purchased this as an extra layer of protection for our duck pen. We had already covered the pen in 1inch chicken wire, however we wanted something with a smaller opening to deter snakes.
This stuff works really well. It's much sturdier than I would have guessed and we were able to wrap the entire pen with it to give it an extra barrier against snakes and other predators. I would not recommend it on it's own as a 'fencing' because it wouldn't hold up against dogs and raccoons, but it will keep out snakes and probably birds.
My only issue was that it was folded in half and then rolled, so you have to struggle with it a bit to get the full seven foot height out of the roll. It would have just been easier if it would have come as it's seven foot roll or had been rolled, then folded so we could have unrolled it easier.

Might be helpful for tree trunk protection, but deer fencing? Not close
Bought it because someone reviewed that it caught a couple of snakes YES! but alas, no snakes yet. The netting is thin, it sticks to itself when you curtain it about, but once it's in place, it works well. It will NOT keep deer out, if those guys want your stargazer lilies, they will get past this netting. Birds however, they don't dive for the strawberries any longer. YES! So depending on what you need, it is pretty sturdy, very very thin, and almost invisible when hanged, birds will be like "what the" but deer will be like "hmm, another cobweb to carry in my antlers..."

I don't have deer in my area but between the birds tearing off leaves from seedlings and the squirrels digging up the rest of what is left, I wasn't able to get my garden off to a proper start. I bought this and wrapped it around inverted tomato cages and secured with small zip ties. Once I put these over the plants (after I replanted them) noting got to them. It isn't the easiest material to work with, but after the third or fourth cage I dressed up, I got the hang of it. I imagine it could be frustrating using this for a large perimeter, but that's not how I used it so I didn't dock it a star. Also, there have been some complaints about it being too thin. Again for my purposes I used it as it came, doubled up in a 3.5' roll, so for my purposes that also hasn't been a problem. Even doubled up it is hardly noticeable. Nothing has ripped it yet and once the plants are established I just take the cages off, stack them, and they are ready for next season.

Used it to add height to our backyard fence to keep our dogs in. This certainly did the job without obstructing the view. It fell at one point (because of our securing job, not by fault of the product) and we found a bonus use: snake trap! As seen in attached photo the fallen deer net kept a couple venomous snakes out of our yard and away from our dogs. We since lined the bottom of the fence with the leftover deer fencing to continue to keep the snakes out. Very happy!

Easy Gardener DeerBlock
I was surprised at how sturdy it really is. I'll see how well it works to keep animals out of my garden next year. It is a bit tough to work with, but after a while, you get the hang of it. After having used this to keep the animals out of my garden, I've removed it......NOT because it didn't work, but because a king snake got caught up in it. If my grandson hadn't come in to tell me there was a snake in the yard, it would've strangled to death. Upside, with my daughters help, I was able to cut the mesh from around the snake and other than a few mangled scales, it was ok.....took off like a shot into the woods.
