Very Effective for Seasonal Affective Disorder Blahs
Bought to replace an older, smaller model. Received the first one as a gift 10 years ago and found that it REALLY helped with the mid-winter blahs that I seemed to have every December/January. This one is several times larger in surface area and makes a big difference in the amount of essential light received. I placed it next to the computer and turn it on while I answer emails, check FB, and drain my first mug of coffee every morning. Believe me, it makes a real difference in my daily outlook.

It really does work!
After years of trying anti depressants, I decided to give this a try with my antidepressant. The difference was quickly noticeable and I soon stopped taking my anti depressant. This light totally replaced anti depressant medications and it works beautifully. I've used it for several years now. I use it 20-30 minutes per day from October-April (approximately) and the bulbs are still working. I just purchased a second one for a family member and he also notices a difference with this light. I purchased a third one for someone else, but they haven't used it consistently. I firmly believe it will work if used consistently. I also opted to purchase this larger one, because I wanted to make sure I got plenty of light. I can't vouch for the smaller version:)

Just what I needed
The Happy Light delivers a bright, cool light for a reasonable price. It's the right size to set on a workspace desk, or set near you on a coffee table while you're reading, watching tv, or doing crafty things like knitting or sewing.
I have to give an extra star for Verilux customer service. My light unit arrived without a front cover. I called the customer service number, emailed them my BTA-MALL receipt and within a few days they shipped me a replacement cover - no questions asked.
If you're looking for a no-nonsense light therapy box to help you get through those dreary winter days, the Happy Light is a good choice.

I purchased this item for my boyfriend, who gets depressed during the long Chicago winters. I had been reviewing these for a while, but couldn't decide on one. One day at work, I noticed my boss had this model sitting on top of her file cabinet. She swore by it, so I went with the very same one. My boyfriend has never seemed so cheerful in the winter time. He is far more productive and seems to get better sleep also. My only surprise was at the size of the light, it is really big. People with less space should consider a smaller version.

Good Product thus far /very good customer support.
Have only had the Happy Light for 5 days! Have used it 4 Xs! It seems to help! I would recommend that anyone who has SAD (Seasonal Affectiveness Disorder) give it a try after checking with your health care providers first. That's what I did. Customer service was very pleasant & helpful when called regarding how to open the easel on the back the day the item arrived.

I recommend this to anyone with even a little touch of the winter blues. I pull mine out when we have to move our clocks forward and put it away when the clocks turn back. It is worth every cent.

It works if I use it long enough. I notice a big increase in energy especially. i like how the plastic diffuses the light and obscures the actual light bulbs so that I don't have to look at them. Don't expect it to be "fun" sitting in front of it. Working on my computer is tough because the brightness of the HappyLight makes my screen hard to read. It's a bit easier with a book.
