PYLE... They are ok, but do have some negatives!
I purchased the PLG 6.4, 4 way speakers, as an upgrade for camper. I was upgrading from the stock 5 1/4", co-axial speaker pair to these 6.5", 4 way speakers. Which are actually 3 ways, with 2 small tweeters. Installation was a bit odd and time consuming because the speaker pair did not come with a set of mounting instructions. But I was able to set the speakers into the plastic base of the speaker grill. This way, raised the speaker depth just enough to allow the wider basket to be mounted into the original 5 1/4" hole. The negative of these speakers is that the Mid / Tweeter tower is higher than the speaker grill is made for. So when the grill was put in place it will not fit, and stay in place good enough. I had add some extra tar strips (from my tool box) to the base plate, bent the grills around (just a little bit) and this helped keep the grills onto the base plate.
As far as the sound quality - they sound good. Crisp and clean. The Bass is marginal, and more of a Mid/Bass speaker. Even with no amplifier, they did start to max out on the stock "Jensen, 35 watt" stereo. I don't think they would survive anything near 300 Watts, as stated. But, for an upgrade of our stock speakers, they sound great in a large camper, so I am happy....Until the speaker grills fall off?!
Color: Negative- The advertised color is a bright yellow. The basket is bright yellow, and the plastic cone was more of a "Spicy Mustard" yellow. It has specks of brown in it. It looks okay behind the speaker grill, but was not what I wanted.
I do recommend these speakers, based off of the low price, good sound quality , and durable construction (plastic cone, and rubber surround). The Chinese people who produce these speakers, should be made to install and test them. If you are looking for competition speakers, this is not a good choice. If your looking for a mid priced upgrade, or replacements for your stock auto speakers, these are a good choice!

Good, clean and loud.
Recently lost some Focal 100 cv1 speaker. Started looking for some budget speakers with decent rms or more then the Focals did. Found these with good reviews so thought why not, if they are junk I won't be out much. Installed them today with some pyle plg6c 6.5" with tweets for the doors. Had a focal accuse 165a melt down. Have them running on a 300 watt amp and they sound clean, clear and loud. After a sound test I switched my amp back over for mid bass and high rang because that is what I am using them for. Have a 12" for my lows. But for the price you pay you can't beat the sound, happy with them and glad I don't have to spend $500 on high end speakers like a set of Focals or something.

solid upgrade from the OEM speakers
bought these as a upgrade for the old factory speakers in my 2000 Expedition. Wasnt sure what to expect simply due to the sweet deal I got from BTA-MALL. Once received and after a quick 45 min install I couldnt be happier. These sound great and are a definite upgrade from the OEM speakers. The bass is not deep and thumping like some of the high end speakers you see and hear rattling the windows but the sound is very clear and impressive even at loud levels. Perfect upgrade for the familly ride

I'd call these "lightweight" speakers. Better choice is PLG64's which I bought for another SUV.
OK. Mediocre sound. If my truck was newer, I'd have gotten better ones; I'll be dead before these need replacing. I'd call these "lightweight" speakers. Better choice is PLG64 which I bought before. It has TWICE the heft as both of these put together. PLG64 does not have the high range tweeter, but a better overall speaker, to me, than this pair. Buy 2 of the $10 PLG 64's. I listen at low volume for background music,

PYLE PLG6.3 6.5-Inch 280-Watt 3-Way Speakers
Well the PYLE PLG6.3 6.5-Inch 280-Watt 3-Way Speakers are installed in my 2006 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab. First I wasn't expecting much... but I was pleasantly surprise with the sound... it’s okay. For some reason the stock passenger side speakers went bad sounded blown all distorted sound. But the stock driver side was fine so I compared the PYLE PLG6.3 6.5-Inch 280-Watt 3-Way Speakers to the stock speakers on the driver’s side. The clarity of the PYLE PLG6.3 6.5-Inch 280-Watt 3-Way Speakers sound better however the bass response was better with the stock full range speaker. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that the stock speaker cone was made out paper and after 6 years of use it was well seasoned. In any case I am please with my purchase of the PYLE PLG6.3 6.5-Inch 280-Watt 3-Way Speakers. I should also note that I bought 2 sets of the PYLE PLG6.3 6.5-Inch 280-Watt 3-Way Speakers. One set the speaker grill screw slot was damaged broken off in the box. And the other set there was cold solder on the speaker cone! It was a tiny droplet right in the center of one the cone side. It sticks out like a sore thumb because of the yellow color of the cone. So build quality could be better but overall a good buy.

Great speaker for the price
Excellent quality speaker for the price. I’ve used these speakers in several vehicles so far with no issues. Good sound quality for moderate users.

They sound great, but...
These speakers sound really good but I had some trouble with one of them. First there was a rattle/buzz, then it was shorting out. Both problems were with just one of the speakers and they were fixable. But, it was kind of a hassle. The hassles were not with the installation but the speaker itself and had to do with how the wire leads are soldered into the cone. I installed these in the front doors of my 2002 Silverado. These fit the opening just fine but I had to drill holes as the OEM speakers are not secured with screws. Overall, I'm pleased but only after some finagling to get them to work properly. If not for that, I would give them a higher rating.

Decent speaker for $20
Good enough for Conway Twitty or Britney Spears, but for Enigma, or classical music, certain tones would be lost, but for $20 I am not complaining. I used these to replace the 30 year old door speakers in my Jeep.

Never gone wrong with Pyle
Purchased these speakers to replace the door speakers in a '97 Nissan 4x4 over a year ago and am 100% satisfied.
OEM speaker connections never seem to match up to replacement speaker terminals so during the install I removed the terminal pad from the OEM speakers and soldered it to the Pyle speakers terminals with a short piece of 14 gauge wire.
OEM plug mated up just fine, the extra wire from my homemade jumper gave some extra "wiggle room" for installation.
These speakers did just what they were supposed to do, they brought good clean sound back to my ears.
If you're expecting some ground pounding bass from these speakers, you should look elsewhere.... these are 5.25s... they aren't made to rattle the paint off your vehicle, they are for mids and highs and they do quite a good job at it.
Are Pyles the "best" speaker out there? NO, but for the money they ARE the best value and have been for a very long time.
After 3 decades of dealing with car audio I have dealt with Pyle products and have always been pleased.
You get generic "budget/no name" brands for less or you can spend hundreds of dollars for replacement speakers.
My experience with Pyle has always been a satisfyingly good product at a very reasonable price and I will continue to purchase.
