Nice Pencils! Really effective and nice on the pocket book.. Your wallet will smile!
I bought a set of these used from eBay since I have already spent a small fortune shopping for additional types and colors of pencils. I REALLY like these as far as value goes.. And I have the 132 ct set of Prismacolors. Granted, I am Not an artist and mainly an adult that is coloring those Dover etc. coloring books. I wondered what the colors might look like and have made a template of the ones I have (from my used set) and wrote in the ones I am missing at the tops of the pencils in similar categories to at least give you an idea of what you are getting for your money. I can't attest to the case, but I can tell you there are some nice boxes and zip up pencil cases out there to be had for the money you are saving. I tend to put my pencils I am currently working with in a tin pail or cup until I am ready to move on (so I don't accidentally grab the wrong one in a hurry anyway).
FYI.. My set looked like it had been carried in a backpack to and from school quite a few times and I haven't had any problems with sharpening or broken tips etc. There is a you tube video telling you how to sharpen a Prismacolor pencil (without twisting back and forth) in the same direction and how if broken leads are a problem simply let the wax within "warm up" a little in the sun and you have a whole new intact pencil now! No breaking from within..
I"ll include pictures of the 72 ct and the 132 ct Prismacolor sets too for comparison. There are 3 colors in the 72 ct set with checkmarks in front of them they are Not included in the 72 ct set. They were bought individually, but I didn't think to take a picture before I added them in. All pencils in the template are colored in on the 132 ct set, but some are light and may not show up well.
I hope this picture at least helps you get an idea of what you will get... Happy moments!

Wonderful pencils! A hint for lead breakage....
Some people have complained of breakage when they sharpened these pencils. We figured out that if you're having trouble with a particular pencil, it helps to nuke it. We wrap the pencil in a wet paper towel and put it in the microwave on high for 5 seconds (that's all, 5 seconds.)
Let it cool down and it makes a real difference.
Most of these pencils work perfectly, but we have had an occasional crumbly one and this sorted it right out. :-) Using their sharpened is good too. It gets them sharper than the regular school sharpeners we have around here.

I have a set of higher end Prismacolors. It's kind of a toss up as far as which pencils are better. I get tired of the more expensive Prismacolors constantly breaking as soon as you sharpen them due to the "lead" being softer. These work just as well, nice vivid colors and break less easily. A great buy for someone on a budget but wants something better than Crayola pencils.

Fantastic deal on a fantastic product.
These are fantastic. I'm not familiar with high end brands so I can't provide more than my experience with store brands and crayola but these certainly blow all those out the water. The cover smoothly and more completely than anything I've ever used. The colors are rich and vibrant. It would be nice to get a nicer case but for 30 dollars on amazon, this is a steal.

on 1969-12-31 Good deal
This a a good deal, a sharpener and eraser combo - for less than $5. I sort of favor using this handheld manual pencil sharpener for my color pencils rather than an electric one. Here at work, I've got one of the older versions of this Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils, Soft Core, 12 Count
pack of pencils. With soft core leads like these pencils, you have to be fairly careful when sharpening them or you end up breaking the whole point off (and having to start over, wasting lead). The sharpener works fine, I didn't have any problems putting a point on any of my pencils. I tried putting a point on a regular #2 pencil and don't recommend using this sharpener for that - the point on the hard lead came out about as sharp as a scalpel and you could cut through any paper using it. The top seems to stay in place even with carrying the sharpener around in my backpack / pencil case.
The eraser is about what I was expecting, I typically use a Black Pearl eraser and this Scholar is pretty much the same sort of eraser. I think I do favor the triangular shape better than the oval - but haven't used it enough to say for sure. All-in-all this pack is a good deal IMO.

Good for Hobby Users
My only craft ability (which is a work in progress) is making my own cards. I bought these color pencils to use to make small "works of art" for my cards. They are really good for someone like me, who isn't an artist. The color goes on quite smoothly and blends adequately. I'd recommend, if you are a real artist, that you go buy pencils that have more pigment and higher quality. Having said that, these are still good for someone of my limited talent, where Even the most expensive pencils wouldn't improve my talents.

Pretty, but break easily
These are very pretty on paper, vibrant and a creamy color. However, once you start sharpening them, they tend to break and fall out on you, even when using the same brand sharpener. Otherwise I like them.

Great starter set for any artist just starting out or a coloring enthusiast needing color variety
Love the variety in these pencils! This is the largest scholar pack sold and includes all of the colors they sell to date. The color goes on smoothly and evenly and is easily blendable to get the look you are trying to create. These pencils work great in adult coloring books and on sketch pads both. I've also used my electric eraser and regular polymer eraser with these to create different textured looks as well. The colors easily layer from light to dark giving you an awesome layered look. A great set for the artist just starting out or coloring enthusiast needing variety.

Pluses and Minuses.
I'm new to the adult coloring fad and have no art experience of any kind. I like these because they are soft and easy to apply the color. The colors are bright and different from my Crayola pencil set with almost no overlap. My issue is that because they are soft, you use up the color fast and they have to be sharpened very often. I bought the recommended Scholar pencil sharpener, but the points break off very easily as you sharpen, even though I am careful, so you waste a lot of pencil in the process. And they are pricey. The plastic case is awful.
