Great square, but glare makes reading difficult
What's to say, it's a Starrett. According to my surface plate, the rule is dead straight, well within .001" on each edge. Action is smooth and firm. The head registration is a perfect 90.
My only minor gripe is that the gloss finish is hard to read. I know Starrett offers a variety of options, and I could have chosen that, but this one was priced very favorably. So, I have no grounds for complaint... But I do find myself reaching for the satin Starrett plain rule, over this combo, for precisely this reason. Next time...

The standard, I love it.

Expensive, but worth it. I ran a Gauge R&R on it just to impress myself. WOW! Accurate, reliable and repeatable.

Great product no comparison with my old cheap plastic one

You will not be disappointed! BTA-MALL has the best price on this item as well. It arrived as promised and was perfectly square. I use it on many of my woodworking projects.

Poorly made. Not worth the price.
Sticks. Does not slide along ruler. I would have expected better quality for the price paid.

Accurate and well made.
Replaced an old cheap aluminum body square that wore out after being used on stainless sheet metal. I was worried that the steel body would be too heavy, but it's much thinner than the aluminum bodies so the weight difference is minimal. All the surfaces are ground flat so it's much more precise then cheap squares that still have fly-cutting marks and large chamfers. This one has the plain stainless blade, I'd recommend getting the satin finish instead, much easier to read. I had a spare inside a protractor, so I swapped them.

Ho Hum the usual outstanding quality
There is little I can say that you have not already heard. Totally perfect tool; there is simply no competition to this product. Some lowdown dirty rotten scoundrel stole my other one so I had to quickly replace it. There was never any thought given to buying another product.
They are not cheap. Skimp on some other tool but buy one of these and get accurate cuts and measurements every time.

It's a Starret!
This Starrett 33H-12-4R square is typical good Starrett quality. The square head is well machined, and the square compared perfectly with my reference. The rule is smooth and satin chromed. The edges of the rule are machined -- not stamped -- of course. I can handle this square continuously, and not worry about cutting my hand on a stamped edge.
The head also fits my Starrett 18" and 24" notched rules, so it can perform multiple duties.
I admit I have some Brown & Sharp tools, which are also excellent quality. But I consider Starrett the best.

Please... it's a Starrett
Any body who's ever had one knows; the price is worth it when you think about how important the tool is and how many times you'll pick it up during the day. Just perfection.
I own a high end cabinet shop and buy one of these for every new worker. Brings the quality of the work up.
