Helpful Advice for Single Ladies
This review is for the single ladies like me. I think these tire cables are a good choice for added snow traction because they do not require you to move your car to install them and they automatically center and tighten as you drive.
That being said, I would encourage you to PRACTICE INSTALLING THEM before you need to use them because the installation was harder than I anticipated.
Here are some tips, based on my experience:
1. Carry a pair of work gloves and a towel. The thin plastic gloves included in the box are worthless when it comes to protecting your hands, and
you'll likely need to get on the ground to install these tire cables correctly.
2. Turn each tire at an angle for easier access if you have a front-wheel drive car. My Honda Fit has front-wheel drive and an extremely tight
wheel well clearance. If your car has a similar set-up, I suggest you start your engine and turn the steering wheel as far to the right as possible
to access the front right tire, then turn the engine off and set the safety brake before installation. Repeat the process for the left side, turning
the steering wheel as far to the left as possible when installing the tire cables on the front left tire.
3. Rubber tightener is stiff and hard to install when new. If you don't have the necessary hand and arm strength, start by connecting the first hook
at the 12 o'clock position, then stand-up and put the toe of your boot or shoe inside the rubber band and stretch it toward the ground so you can
connect the second hook at the 6 o'clock position. For the remaining hooks, I put my hand inside the rubble tightener with my palm facing out.
With the rubber tightener pressing against my palm and thumb, I put all four of my fingers on the steel wire and gripped my hand into a
fist until I could place the remaining hooks on the wire cable at 1.5, 4.5, 7.5 and 10.5 positions. You could also roll your car slightly forward and
repeat the "boot stretching technique" if you don't have enough hand/arm strength to attach the remaining clips.
4. Getting the tire cables back into the box. Gads! These cables nearly pop out of the box when you open it, but are nearly impossible to get
back in. I had trouble doing this outside, so I eventually took the tire cables inside where I could wipe them off and straighten them out on my
kitchen floor. First, I stacked both cables on top of each other so they were straight and even, then I rolled them so the stiff wires on the left
and right edges were rolled as tightly as possible, securing the roll with the provided twist ties. Now, the tire cables looked something like
a "Toostie Roll." I placed the center of the "Tootsie Roll" into the box and pressed the outside edges on top of the roll. Now the difficult part:
I held his springy pile in place with one hand whileI stuffed the rubber tightener on top and forced the lid closed... Ha! Not easy, so you might
want to consider storing the tire cables in a cloth shopping bag instead.
5. To help prevent rust, dry your tire cables and spray with WD-40, or similar lubricant.

Great traction, easy installation, so far so good.
Super easy to install (as far as chains and cables go, anyways). These helped our 2010 Honda Fit Sport get up and over the Siskouyus during a pretty rough winter storm. The Chain Up lot near the highway entrance was full of folks putting their chains/cables on when we arrived, and about equally full of the same folks when we finished chaining up-- I think even the folks who were halfway finished when we started were still working on getting there chains on when we left. Of course, we did a practice round of chaining up at home before we left, but the included instructions are pretty straight forward and easy enough to handle (I do recommend a practice round or 3 before you get on the road). SO glad we paid the extra $$ to get the more highly rated cables.

Super easy to install, works great
I purchased these snow cables to replace my previous ladder-shaped snow cables, and it's hard to believe how much superior these new cables are to my old set. The installation process is much easier, and the split design of the cables means you do not need to move the car and readjusting the cables, which is a huge plus. The z-shape of the cross cables also provide much better grip compared to my previous ladder-shaped cables, which would tend to spin out when the tires were between the horizontal segments.
SCC manufactures many different sizes of these cables, so I found that my new cables fit my tires/wheels than my old set, which were designed to fit a much broader range of tires/wheels. On the flip side, I guess it reduces the likelihood of using one set of cables across multiple cars, but don't really see that as an issue. The other possible down side is that since it uses a bungee-style tensioning loop, I'm guessing that is more likely to fail. You really need to price in a spare set of tensioning loops into the price of these cables.
All in all, a great product at a good price.

Though I have not had to use these in practice, I believe that they will be exactly what I may need when we go to Glacier National the end of this year. I am impressed with the traction ratings for this item as well as the quality that is apparent with the product. The size for my vehicle was easy to match and found them easy to mount on the vehicle even with the low clearance of my cars fender wells. They are also the perfect fit because I used the size finder on BTA-MALL's site.

Great For Single Women and People who Don't Want to Fuss!
I am a single woman and I bought these chains because I noticed another review from the same situation. I read where she mentioned not having to move the car to install these, so I thought I would give them a try. I found these chains to be pretty easy to put on. There is no need to move my car, and I find them much simpler than my last pair. I am so glad I gave these a try!

... bought this set because it was supposed to be easy to put on your tires
I bought this set because it was supposed to be easy to put on your tires. I cannot stress this enough: TRY THEM BEFORE YOU NEED THEM. I drive a car that doesn't have much space between the tire and the wheel well, making it very difficult to get my hands in to attach everything. For those of you with lots of clearance, this will not apply to you. But I was caught in a snow storm and was unable to put the chains on until a service worker jacked my car up for me. I'm sure they work fine for others, but they did not for me.

These work great on my 2-door Honda Civic
These work great on my 2-door Honda Civic! My boyfriend and I have taken them up the mountain a few times to go snow shoeing and we have been able to get through areas where bigger SUVs have gotten stuck. They're easy enough to get on, and I like that you don't have to drive onto them or stop to tighten them. Very satisfied.

Broke after 20 minutes of use...
The installation instructions were crystal clear but a cross member on each side broke and started "whapping" the inside of my wheel wells. I also noticed that many of the circular grippers that are used for traction had broken off some of the other cross members. This all happened on the icy and snowy streets of Portland.

Skiers will love these chains
I'm a skier in Seattle. I start on wet pavement, then have to chain up as we approach the mountains. These are fast and easy to put on, and give my little front wheel drive all the traction it needs to get me to the slopes by the time the lifts open! They stay tight to the tire and run smooth even at 40-50 mph (I know, past their rated speed). I've even installed them in the parking lot in order to get down from a deep powder day. Easy, easy, easy. I love these chains!

Super Easy to do because you don't have to jack ...
First off i bought this product for my road trip from Los Angles to Portland.I never had the opportunity to use the product on the road, so my review is based on the ease of installation. So before the road trip, the wife and I practiced putting on the chains. Super Easy to do because you don't have to jack up your car or drive over like the traditional chains. The chains are easily installed with your parked, tires parallel to the road and lay it out flat and slide in behind the tire and clip in the 3 latches. Then tighten the chain with the 6 yellow hooks. It took me less than five minutes for each tire. There are plenty of videos of people on the internet doing the installation.
