I don't like that they are all plastic
I just ordered two new sprinklers. My last two were left outside during the winter and neither worked after that. My fault. These two new ones are number 5 and 6, as I have been using them for years. I don't like that they are all plastic. The little orange tabs you push to change the width of the spray tend to break off after extended exposure to sunlight. After time the sprinklers develop leaks and eventually stop moving back and forth. At that point, they are just done. However, I have yet to find any that water as large an area with as many adjustments as these have, and the timer is essential for me. My water rates are extremely high and leaving a sprinkler on for hours because I forgot can break the bank. So, this time, I ordered the four year warranty plan, in the hopes that I can get longer use out of these new ones. I would gladly pay a higher rate to begin with for an all metal sprinkler that would last for years longer. But, these are still cheaper than installing a watering system, which is not carefree either.

I really took some time to mull over the idea of buying a plastic oscillating lawn sprinkler, for what seems like a large amount of money. Even after I reading the many good reviews, I was reluctant. The timer was the real selling point, but being able to adjust the flow to make it fit the area, is just as valuable to me.
My first one I received was defective. On the second day of use, the timer would not work. But as always, BTA-MALL does a brilliant job and fast job of replacing it (or giving your money back if you want that instead).
Since these Gardena sprinklers are made in "Germany" (rather than another country that often is known for defective products or poor quality), I decided to have another try at it.
Glad I did! I do not have a square, triangular or circular yard, which is the coverage most portable lawn sprinklers give you. That means often over watering some areas (wasting water) and not enough coverage in other areas (dry spots). Plus, I tend to turn on the sprinkler and then forget about it after getting caught up in other projects. Hours later - . . . Uh-oh. With drought's everywhere now it seems, and a long term drought where I am living, I cannot continue to allow over-watering to happen.
So this model Gardena solves all these problems for me. I can adjust it perfectly (almost) to every area, and the timer shuts the sprinkler off at the number of minutes I have set it for. I love it! Now if it would only move itself to the next area in the yard . . .? Maybe Roomba could get together with Gardena and figure something out?
And when I think about all the sprinklers I've purchased over the years that end up in a pile in the shed, the price of this one seems not so bad after all.

Buying 2 more for my pastures
Where has this sprinkler been all my life? I've seriously been that person moving a sprinkler around to make sure my entire yard gets watered. Not anymore! This sprinkler had awesome length and width that are adjustable and the timer keeps me from wasting water when I forget the sprinklers on. You need this sprinkler , it's worth every penny

I love this sprinkler
I love this sprinkler. What I love about it is the connecting device and the timer. It is easy to remove and connect to another Gardena sprinkler or other brands (if not Gardena need to buy an adaptor). It is an easy pull and click to remove and put on. No more twisting to put on sprinklers. I am not sure if this covers 3900 square foot. Have not measure it but with maximum flow, I felt like this doesn't go as far as other sprinklers that I had. Over all ease of use. Had it for a month now.

Timer doesn't work; contact info requires SS number; but sprinkles well
The sprinkler works well: a good spray and the area is easily adjustable.
The timer, however, doesn't work at all: continuous spray all the time no matter where you set the minutes. Since it won't turn off automatically it is useless for anyone who needs to be able to set it and leave for awhile.
---One other thing. The Gardena site has no information on the model, and even says it can't be found. If you try to contact Customer Service for information, you are sent to a form that requires you to supply personal information including your Social Security number before they will submit your question.

Wow, it's GREAT!
Without a doubt, this is the BEST sprinkler I've ever owned! The BEST!!! In the past, I've purchased just about every brand that's sold. The timers on all the others begin to fail after a few weeks and have limited coverage options. This brand has it all and the timer is precise and reliable. It's not cheap, but it shouldn't be because it's clearly the best!

Sprinklers Engineered to Make You Happy
First, let me acknowledged that these sprinklers are expensive pieces of equipment. That said, if I could give these 10 stars I would. They are the best engineered sprinklers I've ever owned. When I received my first one, I turned around and ordered another a few weeks later. Yes, they are that good. And the company behind them is even better: When my second sprinkler arrived without the quick disconnect part, I contacted the company via their Web site, and, long story short, they not only sent me the missing part, they sent TWO. I'm very impressed with their responsiveness and professionalism--very rare these days, indeed. Back to the units themselves... these sprinklers allow you to spray accurately with in a variety of directional mechanisms that are intuitive to operate--saving water and frustration. This is truly a "you get what you pay for" moment. In my opinion, it is a no brainer in the case of these sprinklers.

$90 sprinkler, or $2000 irrigation system? You make the call!
I needed to replace a 10-yr-old timer sprinkler that had died, and the Gardena's appeared to be the only ones that had all the same functionality as my old one. After reviewing all of them, this one appeared to be the best fit for my yard size and shape. I'll admit, I was initially put off by the price, but I liked the sentiment in S. Brown's review and decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did. The fully adjustable spray pattern allows me to fit the five different shape/size zones that make up my front and back lawns. It's well constructed and sturdy, so I don't anticipate any problems. The quick hose connect is convenient. I couldn't find another timer sprinkler that could do this same job; only an irrigation system would. S. Brown had it right...I definitely do not regret this purchase.

Works Great for 2 1/2 seasons. Too expensive.
This was a wonderful sprinkler for about 2 1/2 seasons. Then it started hanging and would not oscillate. I am so disappointed because I really like the way it worked for 2 1/2 seasons. I just tried to e-mail Gardena. Will see if I get a response. Otherwise I will go back to buying the crappy Chinese made sprinkler at Lowe's and make sure I keep the warranty and turn it in every year for a new one.

So far, a great sprinkler
I only just got this sprinkler and I've only run it for a few hours so far, but so far I love it. It replaces a good-quality Gilmour impact sprinkler. The impact sprinkler was a workhorse, but was hard to adjust, was never able to reach all parts of a rectangular area at the same time, and wasted water trying to. With this new oscillating sprinkler, it's very easy to adjust. Within 2 minutes I had all adjustments made (width, length, and flow), and that was the first time I'd ever used it. It's also much quieter than the impact sprinkler. I've read a few reviews from people who say theirs didn't last very long, so I'll just have to see how that goes. But so far, so good.
