Adequate, but just barely.
I purchased this item to serve as a platform on which to place my laptop while I worked at a life drawing class (for digital drawing/painting)--no real typing, no real mousing. So I don't plan on using it as a computing table--just a thing to hold it at roughly eye level.
With that said, it will work marvelously for that purpose--after a little work.
As others have said, the quality control leaves a lot to be desired. The materials are very high quality. The workmanship, not so much.
The platform on the top is nice and large. It feels like plastic, and is textured on the top. Unless your device is covered with Teflon, it will stay just fine. I have no fear of the stand tipping over, given reasonable behavior around it. All in all, I am very happy, with one exception.
The T-bar that the top is bolted to on mine is welded at a serious angle. As a result, anything sitting on top will be at about a 20 degree angle. I could exchange it but it's really not worth the trouble when I can just put something on top to level it.
If I were ever to buy another Pyle product again, I would be sure that I had the time and was willing to exchange it if necessary.

OK at best
As others have mentioned the tripod base is actually pretty good, though a bit funky in design. Sturdy enough for our use but definitely would not work in a home with small children or large dogs. The legs should really splay out more for more stability.
The top is something else...fairly thin plastic, easily deflected. I would imagine that if the stand fell over (hopefully without a laptop sitting on it) it would crack or chip. But it would be a fairly easy task to make your own top...just add it to the list of projects.
The really BAD PART for me is that they obviously SENT ME A RETURNED ITEM and did not even bother to check it out before sending it on.
The top was not in its plastic bag which was crushed in the bottom of the box. It was thoroughly scratched but not worth the bother to repack it and send it back to BTA-MALL. The paper directions were balled up....I assume the previous recipient got mad about them and balled them up in frustration. There were also some scratches on the metal tripod tubes.
All in all we wanted to have a standup work station in our home so as to vary our position when spending too much time on the computer as this will fit the bill for that.
Photo shows the balled up instruction sheets and plastic meant to protect the top found in the bottom of the box

It's easy to put together
I sent to the manufacturer/product developers the same recommendations:
1. Aluminum or carbon fiber stand (not steel) would be even lighter.
2. It's easy to put together, but all screws should be removed to take the top tray off, and screws can be lost if you take the stand to different locations frequently. If at least one (horizontal) side of the "T" bar would heave a "sliding pipe insert" (similar to a bathroom shower curtain bar) that could be moved in and out manually and secured with a screw or with an inner spring, disassembling would be easier by just loosening the screws instead of completely removing them (this way the "O" rings could stay attached to the plastic tray when travel).
3. The plastic tray is very slippery!!! I am using this stand for video switching gears and small monitors, and can not afford to drop them. I already purchased self sticking rubber/silicon anti-slip pads from BTA-MALL that work great! Manufacturer could offer similar non-slip self sticking pads.
Otherwise this is a great product.

Great stand great price!
I read reviews concerning poor construction and sloppy welds on the "T" fitting
But I ordered the stand anyway because I figured that the folks at "Pyle" would have that issue all squared away
And my stand came perfect!! <3
But the following month I ordered another and baam! I received a horribly unstable unusable poorly welded T fitting!
I couldn't believe it!
This stand is very nice but really??
There apparently is no quality control wth?
Thankfully BTA-MALL replaced the faulty stand at no charge in a very timely fashion <3
So there ya go

Cheap but not without quality issues, once operable it will work fine.
came missing every important part to it and messing with the company is a total headache. It was easier to go to Lowe's and find plumbing clamps and misc. hardware to fix it. ***THAT BEING SAID, the retailer that I purchased it from refunded me entirely so I have no complaint with the retailer. This is a quality issue with PYLE that after researching happens way too often to more than me. When I went on there overly buggy hard to use website to try and get replacements, I gave up quickly and headed to the hardware store to get it somewhat functional but with no adjustment. It is really cheap though so if you are on a budget give it a whirl.

Poorly built, started coming apart after 1 month.
I used it 2x over the month I had it, it sat in one spot in the house, the neck has come dislodged from where it was welded and it is about to break off, I would love for them to replace this because it was barely used while I've had this. The legs will not stay in place unless you tighten it as tight as you can turn it, I always think it will break. I thought the price and the product was great at first, but after just letting it sit there a month, it started to unravel. The foam lip is detaching from the stand as well. I am hoping it isn't the same for all of them. I would like a replacement because it would be an ideal thing to use for my projector.

The support bar that attaches to the platform has a obviously crooked weld attachment, unfortunately its to the side and not to the front or back so no matter what you do it sits cockeyed.. Witch doesnt work for a laptop or projector... A small bundle of folded paper under one legs somewhat straightens it.. It will be replaced an given away.. Very good quality with every other part of the stand.

A Great Tripod!
I tried to find a tripod like this one at all the brand name electronics' stores, but the prices were unreasonable, so I searched the internet until I found The Pyle Adjustable Tripod selling on BTA-MALL for only $26.00 dollars. The tripod is easy to put together and requires about ten minutes. There are adjustments to lower or raise all 4-corners of the tripod which allows a perfectly projected 16:9 rectangle for playing movies. I strongly recommend that you take a good look at the Pyle Pro PLPTS2 Adjustable Tripod. It's great!

the only good thing about it is the tripod base
This product is a hot mess. Really, the only good thing about it is the tripod base, which is sturdy and solid. The weird thing about my tripod is the lack of holes to secure it with the included key! WTF? Luckily, I won't be needing it because it seems to stay where I want it to. The plate (or actual table part) is super thin, flimsy plastic and whatever you set on it threatens to slide right off. What's more is mine came with four black screws that go into the top four holes and they are too short! This causes the top of the screws to not sit flush with the surface of the table..... hence the four recessed spots. Ugh. Forget about customer service. There is none. I tried calling numerous times to ask them to send me the correct screws ans was put on hold for an eternity. Frustrating, to say the least. Ill have to go to the hardware store now and buy the proper screws. Never again.

Handy, Reliable, Well-Built, Great Bargain! (Read my suggestions!)
I bought my Pyle stand about 3 1/2 years ago. I never really used it, just looked at it when I first got it. I was browsing on amazon yesterday and saw this listing. And I noticed that I had bought the stand that goes up to 41". I thought that sounded like a really good height. So I pulled my stand off the shelf and checked it out. The height is PERFECT for tethered shooting, to hold my laptop right next to me!
Setup is very easy and the height is adjustable up to 41 inches, with drilled holes to place a provided, attached pin in for security to keep it from sliding back down to minimum height. The tabletop tilt is adjustable, but then things would just slide off, so it would be best to just have it level.
A few words of caution. The tabletop is rather slippery. I bought a shelf liner at Dollar Tree (for $1) and it adds plenty of grip to the surface, so I don't have to worry about my computer sliding off to the floor. Also, the two hand-tightened bolts that keep the tabletop from tilting are not very reassuring. When I first tried it out, the tabletop tilted and I just happened to catch my computer. These bolts must be tightened SECURELY! Also, as the base is not very wide (fully opened), I suggest using a sandbag. I hang mine from the height-adjusting bolt. It keeps the table very steady.
With all these precautions kept in mind, I feel that the table is an excellent way to keep something nearby when you need that extra space. It moves around easily, and I'm very comfortable having my dearly-loved computer sitting on it.
Good luck with your buying decision. With amazon's generous return policy, you cannot go wrong.
