Built to Last, Worth the Money
My boyfriend is a master tech in HVAC, almost 30 years in the trade. Every year we buy a new pair of these KEEN slip on work shoe. For a shoe to last a year with the way he treats them; wearing 5-7 days a week for a whole year is amazing. We used to buy cheap because they were just a working shoe, something from Wal-Mart but they fell apart quickly... They also caused him back pain.
It is worth the money for these!
UPDATE: It is January 2015 and we just bought another pair... He really likes these shoes. They're durable, comfortable enough, waterproof and slip resistant. Once or twice the KEENs haven't been available and we had to buy Merrell or Columbia. Those are OK but these are the best. I wish he would buy two at a time to avoid that risk, lol.
2nd UPDATE: It is now January 2017 and we just bought another pair. It's a yearly thing at this point, new pair of KEENs every year. He doesn't want anything else.

Just received it in time for El Niño. Wore them to this event I facilitate and got some great compliments on my shoes and they wanted to know where I got them. Someone wrote that they thought the shoes were ugly, where I actually like them a lot. Yes you do have to get use to the wear around the front of your angles, kind of stiff. The shoes are both comfortable and warm. I'm a faithful Birkenstock wearer and when I do wear something else, it's usually Keen. I wear a size 13 but I got these in a 14 and they fit great. Strong and sturdy shoes, and happy enough to write s review.

These shoes are awesome. OK, if your ankles are a bit larger, they do tend to make the front of your ankles sore for about three days until they break in. So if you can deal with the pain for a few days, they fit excellent, they don't slip, and rub the back of your heal. They fit perfect. I wear them all day every day. Soles don't slip on wet surfaces. They are warm but not hot. I wear a size 12 in any shoe, these fit right with regular tube socks, don't think I could get wool socks on with these. They recommend a half size larger, but don't offer a 12.5. I might get a size 13 just to wear on the really cold days with wool socks. I love Keens and these are definitely my favorites

Ankle Break in required in my case
Top of tongue was biting into left front of ankle for a number of days but broke in nicely after that. It didn't hurt other than a full bend (toes towards knee) other wise couldn't even tell. Now it's pretty much good to go, never notice any discomfort since the leather has softened when walking. I ordered half size larger for more ease of putting them on. In my case there is plenty of room. Normally I have wider foot at the toes, small toe specifically and there is no rubbing at all With these. Even while wearing thicker socks. Insulation is nice for cooler weather esp with thick sock. Not sure how that would be in winter yet. Overall great shoes and will order more if I'm able to.

The shoes are very wide. Which is odd because my step mother says usually Keen's fit small, at least for women's shoes. My toes have just enough room in the front to fit comfortably, but there's too much room everywhere else and my foot clonks around in them when I walk. And they aren't nearly as warm as my old North Face shoes. Sadly they don't make the same ones anymore, so I opted for the Keen version hoping the reviews would help sway me. All in all, WAYY too over-priced for shoes that don't fit well, and don't keep your feet warm in colder weather (as described). I would search elsewhere.

The sole is comfortable, although I did add gel/foam replacements
I bought these shoes because I work on an environment where I am standing most of the time but I need protection from sharps and fluids. The sole is comfortable, although I did add gel/foam replacements. The only problem, is that they are too tight at the forefoot, just at the ankle. So bad that they hurt at first. I think they are loosening (or my feet are going numb) but I am hoping that by the end of the month they are going to be very comfortable (once they break) and I will love them as I do other Keen shoes.

But its always nice to get new stuff and the other pair have ...
These were replacement for pair I received as a present 3 years ago. I have never seen them on sale and basically the most expensive shoe I ever purchased. But I have worn them out in the yard, on the walking trails, and to work on casual dress days. The sole of the retired pair were well worn and if it wasn't for the fact I ripped the stitching while doing something that caused excessive wear i probably wouldn't have replaced them with this new pair. But its always nice to get new stuff and the other pair have seen better days so it was time. These new ones are half size smaller so fit much tighter.. guess I didn't realize this before purchased and now hoping the leather will stretch a little...the old ones were like house slippers so yeah it was time to retire them.

Great overall but with a couple issues
I've had these shoes before in brown, and I used them all last winter for the first five months of being a city carrier for the post office. My feet were always warm and dry. My only issues are these: the front part of the opening (where a sneaker would have the top end of the tongue) is really stiff and can actually cause abrasions until they break in. Also, after 3 months of being a carrier, the outside seam on the right shoe towards the toe that curves up across the top of the shoe began to let go in 3 months. I wore them for another two months like that before switching brands. I've just now gotten them again in black to give them another chance, but have only had them about a week, so no problems yet other than the stiff front opening I mentioned.

Changes since the last model
I had an older pair of these that lasted for 5 years of constant winter wear. They are still super comfortable, but don't have the traction I need for walking to work. I am just starting to wear the new pair and as many reviewers have noted there are some challenges. The cut around the ankle is just a little higher than the old model and it does cut into my skin a bit. I am hoping this this dissipate over time. I am guessing they did this to provide better coverage from winter slop. They eliminated the pull tab from the heal and made the gores smaller in the front. The result is this shoe is harder to put on than the old ones. I guess they call these first world problems. The sizing is a bit bigger and I have a little slop in my step with the current socks. Oh well. Even with all of these changes, I will wear these every day and eventually love them as I have all my Keen shoes. My trusty old pair will be relegated to weekend duty around the house.

Clunky but comfy and fits as expected. Good winter/cold weather slip-on shoe.
Comfortable. I bought this for an indoor show, but it's a bit clunky and has heavy tread, so it would be best for outdoor use as intended. I can't fault the shoe for that though. I use it to stand at work every day during the winter.
Discounting a star for a bit of a quality problem though - I have some stitching coming unravelled after a few months.
