My main problem while searching for a lunch bag was not really knowing sizes. I immediately tested the size of this one with my meal containers and thank goodness its perfect. I'm a new nursing student and with clinicals on weekends I needed a bag that allows two meals and snacks. I was able to fit 3 containers in the main compartment. I still have a small section up top where some protein bars fit nicely. I am definitely excited and pleased with this bag.

Overall, a Nice Cooler, Just Smaller Thank I Thought
I looked at both the larger bag and this one and opted to try this one first after reading reviews. The bag is very nice looking and has lots of handy compartments.
1. It is easy to carry and the top is slightly rounded so it looks like the old fashioned lunch pails.
2. It has separate place for dry and chilled items.
3. It has a separate zippered compartment in the front for silverware.
4. There is a white liner inside the chilled compartment that can be removed and cleaned.
5. The carry handles are very nice, thick, & sturdy. They are easy to grasp and comfortable to carry.
6. There is also an optional shoulder strap for those that like to carry it that way.
7. Sturdy and looks like it will last awhile.
8. Keeps things pretty cool with a frozen juice bottle or ice pack. I live in a hot climate and work outdoors, so a hard sized, insulated cooler works better for keeping things cold. This is fine for people working in offices or where the outside temperature is room temperature.
1. It was smaller than I thought. Another review mentioned 2 Tupperware containers side by side barely fit and that's true. On a typical day, I usually carry two wraps or 1/2 sandwiches, a fruit bowl (1 Tupperware), a side salad (2nd Tupperware), a couple of protein bars for emergencies, and a frozen juice for the day's lunch and snacks and it barely fits.
2. On either side of the cooler is a tiny compartment with netting that can be unzipped to put drinks. I'm not sure what size drink bottle people carry, but I couldn't even fit a 16 oz plastic orange juice bottle in it. I don't have any soda cans to test, but it looks like they'd be a tight squeeze too. I just use use one of these tiny compartments for medications, supplements, ID, and other things like that. The other I keep the optional shoulder strap in.
Overall, I'm please with the cooler. This size is perfect for an office workers lunch. Next time around I will probably try the larger one though being that I would like to be able to fit more things in the cooler as I'm working physically and eating every couple of hours.

This is so close to being the perfect lunchbox/cooler.
I originally bought a Crew Cooler II. It is a very nice cooler but much too big as an everyday lunchbox, especially if one has to take it on crowded public transportation daily. The Crew Cooler II has been reassigned to be the picnic and day-trip/car-trip cooler.
I then got the Crew Cooler Jr. It is a good external size. Good pockets for storage. My main problem is with its width. It is just a bit too narrow in that dimension. Most of my bento boxes and Pyrex containers that I typically use are just a little bit wider than the base of the Crew Cooler Jr and do not fit flat on the bottom. I have to wedge them in at an angle and everything in it will slide down to the bottom. If it was just an inch wider then all my lunch containers would fit much, much better. An extra inch in length wouldn't hurt either. While I like the external size I'm willing to sacrifice a little convenience there for better internal space. I have not had any issues with the depth so far.
Other than these quibbles this is the best looking and practical lunchbox/cooler I've found so far.
If eBags could implement two more improvements in the design then we are just about there in creating the perfect lunchbox/cooler for adults and kids.
1) Attach the handles to the body of the bag, not the lid. If a person picks up the cooler by the handles with the lid unzipped then the bag will flip open and spill the contents.
2) Make a wrap for the handles. One of the handles should have a bit of fabric with Velcro stitched on it it. That way a person can bind the two handles together for ease of carrying.
Looking for forward to Crew Cooler Jr. v2.0!!
Update - The internal liner of this bag has proven to be a weak link. The zipper of the liner has impossibly small teeth and they can easily separate. It's a struggle to unzip (and re-zip) the liner and not wreck the teeth. I managed to do it once but I'll never do it again. It's best to just wipe out the liner to clean it. You could easily ruin this bag by trying to unzip the liner if you are not super-careful. Luck helps, too.

eBag customer service rivals BTA-MALL's !!
Bought this crew cooler JR. back on March 20. I'm retired and often hunt or fish some distance from home. As a diabetic, i have to carry lunch, diabetic supplies and glucose tablets with me. So, this bag has made numerous trips with me since March.
When I received the bag, I didn't think I would need the shoulder strap. So, I removed it and stuck it in a drawer. Now, almost eight months later, I need the shoulder strap and cannot find it.
Decided to call eBags. The customer service lady could not have been nicer. I told her I needed a shoulder strap and wanted to purchase one. She checked to be sure it was in stock and volunteered to ship it to me at no charge.
eBags customer service is on a par with BTA-MALL's.
The rep told me the eBag had a lifetime warranty . . . I didn't think it would cover a stupid act like losing the strap. :)

Nice cooler bag
*EDIT* 5 months later. I've grown to hate this bag for the purpose I am using it for. When I say hate i mean literally hate. I Wont dock any stars for it, because my original review was/is accurate. The only thing is, i drive for a living, and i'm in the cab of my truck for about 8 hours a day minimum. I cant set this bag in the seat or on my console without it bloody rolling everywhere! every time i turn around its in the floor, or its wedged itself out of reach between the passenger seat and the passenger door! Its a really nice bag if you're going to take it to work or school and set it down under your desk or on a lunch counter or refrigerator even. But if you drive, like me; buy something with a flatter bottom and more boxy shape.. again.. great bag... no so great where i need it.
I was looking for a new cooler bag for my lunches and stumbled across this one.
It is very well made. The material is not cheap feeling at all, and the seams appear to be sturdy. The zipper on the front sticks a bit, but not enough to concern myself with nor remove a star from the review.
The one thing i can say though is, if you watch the comparison video between this one and the larger one, this one is actually smaller than i thought it would be from watching the video. I was expecting a medium size bag, but this one is smaller. This is not a fault of the advertising, nor do i feel mislead in any way, I think its a side effect of ordering online, its very hard to gauge size from a video, no matter how much you research the product. If you're looking for something sizeable, I'd say buy the larger version of this bag. If you're looking for a small (almost small-medium purse size) to get you through your lunch hour at work, and a couple of side snacks this is the item for you. If you're like me and spend a good deal of time in the cab of a truck for 8+ hours a day, and would like to stow a few extras like drinks and food, etc.. the larger one would be more appropriate I think.
The only reason I docked 1 star from the review is the price, I just don't feel it was worth the asking price of $39.99, I feel like this is a $29.99 bag. This is a hindsight observation. I dont feel ripped off, I just think this is priced a bit higher than it should be.
All in all, its a very good, solid bag, the Red color isnt too bold as to be considered loud, its a nice dull colored red that's a pleasant shade to look at. If i had to do it again, i'd probably buy the larger version of the bag (which i do feel might be worth its asking price), you can see a good review of the larger version by watching this video here: [...]
If that link doesn't work for some reason YouTube search Fly With Stella. (i am not affiliated with her, it was a very good review of the larger bag, worth mentioning)

This bag is awesome. I do NOT use it for food. I work in a hospital and use it for my pens, important documents (folded), etc. Its so much lighter then the other big case I was carrying all the time. I am very happy with this item. I removed the inner white liner that was inside the main part of the bag and it gave me more room. It came off by unzipping the zipper. The shoulder strap is very comfortable. I also put my Tylenol in there, and its great for putting medication in there as well. I am really happy with this bag. It is shipped ina box and the bag is flat but you just open it and your ready! I highly recommend this ebag to anyone. Its great for men also. A male nurse I work with got this for himself. There are a lot of pockets with zippers. You will really like this ebag. Worth every penny!

Well made. Zippers are heavy duty. Material is tough. I really like the multiple compartments. It is a bit smaller than I was thinking/hoping, but still a great cooler. I can fit 4 water bottles in the bottom easily, and a 5th, if I don't mind loosing some of the space in the compartment above. It will be just what we need for snacks/drinks for a day at the little league park.

Worth the money!
This is an awesome lunch bag! It holds a large amount of food and drink both inside, and outside of the bag. If you are in a location in which your food/drink is secure, there are two pockets on the outside for drinks, and one section on the top for food (perhaps things that are easily crushed, for example), leaving plenty of room in the main compartment for your main meal. It is plenty big for hot/cold food containers as well. If you are not so lucky to be in a location where your food/drink is secure (i.e. in a shared lunch room where people seem fine with helping themselves to other peoples' lunches), then this lunch box will also work. The main compartment is large enough to hold two 16oz. drinks (such as Gatorade, etc.), fruit, veggies, chips, a sandwich, and, if you want, cookies. That's a lot of food! Then, you can put a suitcase lock on the zipper tabs (which have openings just for this)! This product costs a little more than others I've seen, but it is really nice, and has held up to daily, heavy-duty work.

Great little lunchbox!
I was looking for something stylish and compact that I could bring my lunch to work in without always having to put it in the fridge. There are so many nice features about this cooler. The length of this cooler fits nicely inside of a file cabinet drawer. The removable inner pouch makes cleaning up a breeze (and its replaceable, bonus!). The only drawback is I can't fit any of those square plastic containers inside without them beining on their sides - causing spills. Also the frozen dinners that I like to bring for lunchtime don't fit well in this cooler as well, but I put them in the freezer until lunchtime anyhow. More color options would be nice, too.

This is an awesome lunch cooler
I love this lunch box. It fits a lot. Sturdy design, with good insulation. Zip out liner, for easy cleaning. Storage pockets galore and two that double as ingenious water bottle holders. You won't be disappointed by this product.
