Did not work for our granddaughter
My granddaughter is 8 ½ months old and still does not sleep through the night. She will only sleep for 1 hour if she is not swaddle still. I ordered the transitional swaddle thinking this would help her learn to sleep without a swaddle. This swaddle does not help her sleep at all.
The concept is good, but the arms and chest area does not have enough tension to keep their arms down. The idea of swaddling is to keep the hands and arms from moving all over. It also is meant to teach the infant to sleep with their arms down. This really does neither of these things.
The arms are easy to remove and that design is good. The wings are too rounded and compact in my opinion to perform the way it is intended. Having the full front zipper is great for changing diapers in the middle of the night. Plus it is quieter than others that use the Velcro.
Our granddaughter is 21 lbs. and we purchased the large. The body of the swaddle fits perfectly as well as in length.
The fabric is soft and the seams are sewn to not rub on the baby’s body. Also, the swaddle is light enough it can be used in the summer with just an onies or in the winter with a sleeper. Though, with frequent washing the fabric did shrink some and it was not dried.

I bought this because my 14-week-old son was beginning to roll onto his side, so I knew it was time to start weaning him away from the swaddle. I'd tried leaving one or both arms out of his regular swaddle, but he didn't seem comfortable and he'd end up waking himself up by flailing around. When I stumbled across this, I liked the design immediately, thinking he could get used to sleeping with his arms up, while still being confined enough that he wouldn't wake himself up, then he could go arms-out. It worked! Unfortunately I think we started using this right as he hit a growth spurt - he had a couple of good nights (with both arms in the wings) before we hit a rough patch and he began waking up 1-3 times per night to eat, or taking forever to fall asleep at night. It could have been a growth spurt in addition to him getting used to his new sleeping situation; I don't really know. But I'm glad we started using this when we did, because it was just over a week later that he started rolling over completely. He sleeps with both arms free now, and I've noticed he's able to comfort himself back to sleep sometimes by sucking on his thumb.
I'm glad this can be used as a regular sleep sack after the wings are gone, so I can use it for quite a while and not have it just be used for a couple of weeks to transition him from swaddle to no swaddle. He seems cozy in it. We always put him in a nightgown/sleep sack before zipping him up in this, to keep him nice and warm.
Why don't other swaddle products use a zipper like this!? That was the only thing I didn't like about his swaddles (both the weighted swaddle and his regular SwaddleMe-type Velcro swaddles), was that you had to undo the whole shebang to check/change the diaper. Getting a squirmy baby back into a swaddle in the middle of the night, in the dark, wasn't fun. With this, his arms stay in it and he can keep sucking his thumb while I do my thing, then I simply zip him back up and we're good to go. A very simple yet incredibly handy feature.
The only thing I'm not crazy about is the angle of the wings. Maybe they need to be a little wider or angled out from the top a little more or something, but the fabric seemed to stretch quite a bit around his chest because of them, and the fabric would bunch up, causing the zipper to stick out and get in the way while nursing.

Didn't work for us
My first swaddle arrived with a broken zipper. It wasn't a big deal as BTA-MALL shipped another one very quickly.
However, this just didn't work for my daughter. She wasn't crazy about her arms having to be up in the little sleeves when they were attached. She kept wanting to put them down or spread them out to her sides and couldn't so she'd wake up screaming. We were going to attempt to unzip one side at a time but her reflex was too strong and she wasn't quite ready.
The concept is great but my daughter didn't want to have her arms confined up towards her head. Sadly, we returned and found something else that worked better for her.

Give it a 2nd Chance
Baby love it now. I bought it when my son was 2.5m. He didn’t like it because, at the time, he wanted to suck on his thumb and the fabric frustrated him. It was better to use the Halo Sleepsack (aka straight jacket). I tried it again at 3.5m and he’s fine with it now. He has more control over his hands and arms so he isn’t as frustrated. He can stretch the fabric more and bring his hand closer to his mouth for soothing. He still has a startle reflex and this definitely helps him sleep longer than without it! I almost forgot the best part- so easy to change diapers and I love the zippered sleeves. The sleeves let’s baby continue to use it as a regular sleepsack when ready (2 in 1 baby gear is a plus!) I unzip during feeding and let him stretch his arms. I also like the stretch in the fabric which other sleepers lack. If it wasn’t so pricey I’d buy 2 but they grow out of it so quick! The zipper does sometimes bunch at the top but I’m not concerned because my son has good control over his head now so he can move from side to side. I could see how this would be a concern for newborns.

Great transition out of miracle blanket to UNSWADDLED. Took us 2 weeks for our 18 week old.
Our 16 pound daughter would not fit into the miracle blanket anymore. It wouldn't wrap far enough around her to keep her secure & she kept breaking out of it which was a safety hazard. We bought this hoping to transition her out of that blanket since she couldn't sleep swaddled. We tried it when she was 16 weeks old and it was a disaster.. Waited 2 more weeks until she was 18 weeks and we were able to lay her down in it at bedtime and at naps. The first night was difficult - she woke up 4x. But the next nights were back to normal. After a couple days, we tried 1 arm out at bedtime and it failed. We zipped the arm back up & waited a week. We tried arm out again, and it worked, although she woke up around 4x at night. Gave it another week for her to get used to it, and took the 2nd arm out - Swaddle free finally! The 2nd arm out was difficult at naps and waking up at bedtime for a few days, but she got used to it.

Great when Baby starts to roll
We had to start using this when our girl was 'too small' for a medium according to the size chart but it still worked well. She was starting to roll onto her side a lot in her sleep, which is more dangerous for swaddled babies. The first few nights we snuck a wing off once she was already asleep, then we started putting her down with one arm out, and finally with both arms out. She's 14 weeks and and it took about 1.5 weeks to get her sleeping fully arms free. I sleep easier now, too, knowing that her arms are free because she is constantly rolling on her side at night.

Good solution for those swaddle busters!
These were the only “swaddles” that we could get our baby to sleep in! She didn’t like the traditional or Velcro swaddles because she wanted her arms out but she also had a strong startle reflex and that would wake her. I wasn’t sure about her liking her arms up by her head all the time with not much option to move them but she would immediately start sucking on he hand once she was in the sleep sack. Now that she’s rolling over we took the sleeves off, and she now knows it as a part of her sleep routine. I also love that it zips from both ends for easy diaper changing! Great investment.

Overpriced, did not improve my babies sleep quality
Not worth the expensive price tag. I needed something for my baby when he outgrew his swaddle as he was rubbing his face with his hands and waking himself up. While I do like the concept of the babies hands being up on the sides of his head as I find that is where he naturally puts them, this did not help him sleep any better than with nothing on. It's only purpose for us is as a blanket that my son can't kick off and with the $45 price tag that is just way too much considering it did not help him sleep any better or longer.

Great alternative to the traditional swaddle
Absolutely love this swaddle. From day one, my baby wanted to sleep with his hands near his head, and this swaddle allowed him to do so while also preventing the startle reflex from waking him up. I can't say that this helped us extend his sleep at all, but he's definitely cozy in it, and he has become accustomed to this being part of his nap/bedtime routine. He's now just over 4 months old hand has transitioned out of having his hands swaddled, so I love this 50/50 version. We still use this without the arms at every nap & bedtime!

This company is awesome! Not only do they make a phenomenal product but they are super great to work with whether you have questions, comments, or concerns. My special needs son has been using these swaddles for about a year and I can tell you they far exceed the velcro ones I was previously using. He loves them and will go get one just to snuggle with it! We now have about every color and size and it's my go to baby gift. I like that they aren't too hot bc my son seems to be a sweater ha. (never used the winter ones tho.) I did have some issues with the seam coming undone but the company quickly sent me a new one before I had even finished telling them what was wrong. Insanely fast, easy customer service.
