Bought this for my 95 year old mother. Initially we were most impressed. It seems to be quality product, sturdy and very functional. It worked better than we had hoped...for two weeks. Then it just died. It acted like there was no power to the motor at all. Tried different outlets and checked circuit breakers - all to no avail. But we were so pleased with how it functioned out of the box, and BTA-MALL was so responsive in their return policy, we're trying a replacement. We're hopeful that the failed unit was just a lemon because the unit's size, shape and functionality are spot on with what we need. I'll follow up later on how the replacement does. It arrives today thanks to BTA-MALL.

I bought this lifting seat to use in a regular arm chair. My husband is used to sitting in a large lift chair at home. He's temporarily staying in a nursing facility for PT rehab following a broken ankle. This lift is perfect for our situation. It helps him be able to stand easier to do transfers into bed or into a wheelchair. It's sturdy, comfortable and very quiet. Well worth the price and perfect for smaller areas where a lift chair is too large.

but my poor mobility (severe arthritis in both hips) kept me from ...
Believe the caution in the description of it being uncomfortable. It is EXTREMELY uncomfortable to sit on. I cannot sit on it to work at a desk or computer for more than 10 minutes at a time. I made the initial mistake of ordering the wider seat version of 20". I should have gone with the regular width of 18" but that would still be uncomfortable. The wider version works OK for my rotary desk chair but it's too wide to work in all other arm chairs. It's difficult to concentrate on getting any work done because of the discomfort. The discomfort is caused by the irregular bumps in the base seat plate under the foam padding. The vendor authorized me to return it with credit towards the narrower version, but my poor mobility (severe arthritis in both hips) kept me from bringing the return package to the shipping location. So now it's just in a box collecting dust.

We bought this gift for my father who is having some health issues. He just needed something to get him to more of a standing position so not as to add pressure to his knees. This was a perfect easy solution, instead of running the risk of purchasing an expensive lift chair. It is easy to use - just plug it in! He enjoys the independence that it affords him. The bottom of the seat is soft, but after a while he needed to add an additional small pillow for comfort.

Did not work for my husband. The seat does lift the individual up. But...the cushion is so uncomfortable, that it is impossible to sit on for any length of time. I would love to return it, however didn't realize the company does not take back cushions. Very unhappy with this purchase. I wouldn't recommend this item at all.

No.... it didn't suit our needs
This wasn't cheap, but it needs the PERFECT chair. Think about this hard before you buy.
Mom in law was ill, weak and needed help getting out of her favorite chair, a little recliner that kinda rocked. She doesn't weigh much, and I thought it would be perfect for a little boost. It wasn't comfortable, it made her tip over (now THAT was a little funny). We kept it anyway, it may come in handy for someone else one day.

Great seat but broke after a month
Ordered for my Dad to replace the last one that broke. This is the third one that he's had that broke. Last one just out of warranty. It is a great product when it works but why can't they make one that is reliable. Trying to figure out what to do to get warranty service but company won't get back to me.

This really works!
We were looking for a lifting aid for my mother who would be visiting us. She has a chair at home that helps her get up and really needs this assistance instead of someone pulling her up by the arm (and hurting her in the process). This does exactly as it claims. Both my husband and I tried it out in several different chairs - there is a hundred pound difference in our weight and several inches in height. The seat lift worked perfectly for both of us. It is a nice, easy, smooth lift and will put you on your feet in a more upright position (I notice when people struggle to lift out of a sitting position, they are bent over forward and risk falling). My mother is in her mid-80's and not very strong. She did not require any assistance when using this lift. It is a pretty comfortable seat and has substantial weight so it does not move around. It fits in a lot of different seats. Highly recommended!

Waste of Money
Does not raise my mother enough to stand up. Uncomfortable cushioning and slow. My mother does not feel safe with it.

Don't buy! Quit working! No warranty!
