Good alternative if you just want to plug an extension cord in for low-power appliances - Recommend
I have a generator for my old horse trailer (which has sleeping quarters). I wanted to be able to close the door to the sleeping area, but still have 110 volt power inside -- where I have a 100 amp-hour battery, TV and small microwave. This AC Port Plug allows me to run an extension cord to the trailer while it's parked (a.k.a. shore power), from the house or the generator, keep the battery trickle charger online, and keep the sleeping area door locked. You'll need to make a 2" hole -- which can be a challenge without the correct tool. Luckily, I have a buddy who's a professional electrician, so I just borrowed his 2" Greenlee kockout punch slug. Then all I had to do is clean up / debur the hole before mounting it with some simple machine screw hardware (I also used red thread locker on the machine screws for extra security). Inside the trailer, I just mounted a good quality power strip to plug in the trickle charger, microwave, etc. BTW, if you want to run more than low-current appliances, I recommend you go with a full size 30 amp twist-lock bulkhead connection and install an RV-style power distribution panel.

Great product took about 15 minutes to install. 2" metal hole saw is required. Make sure to check amperage rating of extension cord for intended purpose. I would also suggest a bead of silicon around the hole underneath the gasket. Self tapper with 1/2in screws to secure.

Looks great. Works great. Complete installation took about 2 minutes. The only issue I had is that some of my heavy-duty extension cords have larger ends that won't fit into this port, but the typical cord works fine. So, just find a cord that works and rock on.

Nice, clean fit with minimal hassle
Used this to install my block heater on a Volvo XC-70 ( euro install is way cleaner than the U.S. install), modified Volvo's instructions to allow for a round port and voila! Nice, clean fit with minimal hassle. Note of advice -- the port is well designed, the plug in the back is angled in one direction so you can maneuver around obstructions. I'm a little OCD, so the slight angle to the prongs detracts aesthetically for the 3-4 seconds I can see it between opening the port and plugging it in, but it works flawlessly and looks unobtrusively OEM when not in use.

Looks great on my pickup
This product worked very well to clean up the front of my pickup. I used it to make my block heater cord more aesthetically pleasing and protected. It looks great and was very easy to install. Definitely recommended for this application.

It looks nice and the rubber plug keeps snow and road grime ...
Put this in the bumper to connect a block heater and interior heater in my car. It looks nice and the rubber plug keeps snow and road grime out. The ground plug broke off within a month of use last winter. Not a big deal, still worked. One month into this winter and one of the electrical plugs has broken off as well making the plug not usable. The plugs are not very heavy gauge material. I would try and find a more commercial grade plug. I need to get another plug now as the hole is in the bumper already.

Great addition to my boat
Great addition to my boat, helps me ensure all cords and cables remain tucked away and secure because all I have to do is attach my extension cord to the recepticle for charging and disconnect and cover the outlet for protection when not in use.

Great for my motorcycle enclosed trailer
Great for my motorcycle enclosed trailer. Due to thickness of trailer walls I cut plug end off and wired to a standard household plug in. Now I can just plug outside into a cord, and then I plug my battery charger into receptacle inside trailer. My snowmobile
trailer I just let cord hang loose in trailer.

Perfect power port for rv/trailer/camper
Perfect for adding a single 15a power cord to a rv/trailer/camper. It's basically just a short extension cord with the input end shaped to fit in a 2"diameter hole in a wall. Easily sealed and well made. I used one for my motorcycle hauling / camping trailer. Makes it easy to hook up the trailer to power at home or to a small generator when out camping so I can charge the battery and power lights and heaters etc.

Worth every penny. Get it.
Great item, installed in minutes. Now I just plug in the cord to this and my battery gets charged. No more opening up lids connecting clips or cords.
You will need a hole saw to install this and better screws that what is provided,my opinion on the screws.
