Great kit! I had better results than with Sea Monkeys.
First off, let me say that I purchased this kit and the Sea Monkeys pirates treasure kit at the same time and although this kit was more expensive, I personally found it to be much nicer! This kit had LED lights that really worked nicely and mine was a beautiful blue color. In the past I've always had good luck with Sea Monkeys but the pirates treasure kit was a big disappointment. First the package said it had a "super bright" light which was hardly the case. It was dim and would go off on constantly like there was a short in it. Secondly, I started the Sea Dragons and the Sea Monkeys at the same time. I always follow the directions carefully but the Sea Monkeys barely hatched at all, and the ones that did died within 2 days. However, the Sea Dragons hatched well, grew faster, larger and were more robust. I followed the instructions to the letter on both packages and they were started and grown under identical conditions and temps. One thing I noticed that is probably irrelevant is that the Sea Monkeys traditionally had a slight coloring added to the water I suspect was to help you see them better but this kit did not use it. I was greatly disappointed with the Sea Monkeys kit all around. I would suggest that if you do go that route, just get the standard tank and add your own light source. Like one of those decorative glass cubes with a multicolored LED base that they sell at Dollar Tree. Or the standard pack without a tank so you can grow them in whatever you wish. Personally I found the Sea Dragons kit much better and more attractive and they grew much better. This was my first experience with the Sea Dragons brand and it was a good one. Essentially, they are both just species of brine shrimp. The Sea Monkeys brand is a hybrid species that they developed and the Sea Dragons are a more common natural species. All I know is that they grew better, bigger and faster and had a nice little informative booklet about their life cycle etc. They also sell a kit without a tank and I think that's another option for folks out there. In general the Sea Dragons kits are more expensive but you get much nicer, more colorful tanks and I think are an all around better product. This is just my personal opinion and I bought both kits with my own money and have no affiliation with either company.

Pretty standard; maybe 25-30% of the eggs actually hatch
Pretty standard; maybe 25-30% of the eggs actually hatch, of those 50% survive more than a few days, then after a week all I had was one medium sized fellow. It was pretty sad and when the directions assume more survivors it gets hard to tell how much/often to feed. It's difficult to not suck animals up into the aerator or they get stuck to the tubing on the outside. The last survivor ended up not making it past 10 days. Quite depressing, actually... I have better survivability from the brine shrimp hatchery kits with the black box.

they'll love this product
My household has been THRILLED with this purchase! We have only had it a couple of weeks and one of each day's highlights is to see what new "life" has hatched in the world of aqua Dragons.
If your children are inquisitive, they'll love this product. There are numerous opportunities for learning and fun, with this product.
I strongly encourage it.

They all died in less than a week
I was very excited when within a few days I had a bustling civilization of hundreds of aqua dragons. Unfortunately in less than a weeks time they were all dead. Unlike the dinosaurs there was no apocalyptic event that destroyed all my aqua dragons, I just must have had an unhealthy batch.

I ordered this a few weeks back for my niece and nephews and they love it! They have had the best time watching the Aqua Dragons come to life! Would definitely order again! Very educational and was a great gift!

I’ve not had sea monkeys(or I guess in this case aqua dragons) in six years and this is a great way to be reintroduced to them
In less than 14 hours I had two babies. This was a surprise to me as I’ve has the Sea Monkey brand and it took them almost four days to hatch, not to mention I had to wait a whole day because of the water purifier. I’m already highly impressed with the packaging and the two thick packages of eggs you get with the Aqua Dragons kit. I’ve not had sea monkeys(or I guess in this case aqua dragons) in six years and this is a great way to be reintroduced to them. Even though they are just hybrid brine shrimp, they’re fun to watch and care for. I’ve already recommended this brand to friends!

Followed instructions exactly, not very many have hatched, & out of the ones that did hatch, only 2 are left. I've had Sea Monkeys before, & they had a higher hatch/success rate compared to these. Tank is cool as it lights up. I'm going to order Sea Monkey refill & see how that does in this tank.

A pleasant surprise
As a kid of the 80s we had something similar so when I saw Aqua Dragons I said "Yes, please." It was so easy to set up and the aquarium is great with the lights. They hatched pretty quickly (you will need the magnifying glass for the first couple days). I just bought another one for my office and sent one to my niece. She loves it and I get an Aqua Dragon update everyday. Fun Times!

My kids love the idea but I have tried multiple times to grow these guys and yet they always die within days. I follow the instructions perfectly, not sure what else I can do.
