Inexpensive but decent quality turned down bit for light work
I got the 20mm bit with a 1/2" shank. I had a specific application that needed a 20mm hole in aluminum. This is a high speed steel bit, not designed for drilling in hard materials. I have cobalt bits for that, but did not have one in 20mm. I have found that bits larger than 1/2" used in a 1/2" capacity machine do not necessarily give me a round hole unless I use the drill more or less as a reamer. With this drill, I drill a 1/2" hole and use the 20mm drill at low rpm to ream it out to the larger size, maybe in two steps with an 11/16 drill in between. I do not expect the drill or the drill press to be rigid enough to directly give me the hole I want. I would never expect an inexpensive bit like this to drill the kind of hole I could get with a good short bit in a full sized milling machine.
What is good about the bit delivered to me: the shank is on center with the bit, the flutes are symmetric, the tip is ground on center and sharp with the right angles, and the bit is straight. At this price, that is a good outcome.

Broke on first use.
First use was drilling a couple holes in 1/4" mild steel. Just starting the second hole, the bit grabbed just a little, and snapped in half. I have never seen such a weak drill bit. I was actually using a hand drill, so the torque was minimal, and I did not even hurt my wrist when it snapped (confirming it was a very weak bit).
Stay away, this is Chinese made crap.

Labeling could be better
The bit seems fine, and the price was good, but labeling (on BTA-MALL) could be better. A search for 1" drill bits returns a list of 1" drill bits... like it should. However, the search returns other sizes too, which show up as "Drill America DWDRSD Series Qualtech High-Speed..." on the search-return list. If you are bone-head (like I was) and fail to read the entire description, you may miss the size that is listed correctly on the 5th line of the description... The size is kind of the most important thing. So, it would be nice to see it listed 1st. My mistake and it never hurts to have a few extra bits around. Now I have a 11/16 bit AND a 1" bit.

Mighty Fine Drill Bit
Very good drill bit. Drilled 5, 20mm holes through cold rolled milled steel without any problem. I was very hesitant to order because of negative reviews, but it is obvious to me now, they don't know how to drill a hole. To drill a hole this large in steel you should use a drill press, you also have to "sneak up" on the finished size. I started with an 1/8" drill then, 1/4", 3/8", 5/8" and finally the 20mm (which is close to 3/4"). You also need to use the proper drill speed (RPM) and feed rate with cutting fluid or oil. 3 and 1 worked good. Will be buying this brand in the future.

Fantastic High Qualtiy Bit At A Very Low Cost
I questioned the quality of this item when I saw the low price, but was pleasantly surprised when it arrive very well packaged with a quality drill bit. It's packed in stick lubrication to prevent rust so grab a can of WD-40 and clean this thoroughly before using. This drilled clean neat holes in the steel grinding wheel arbors that I needed to enlarge. I used my wood lathe as a horizontal boring machine and this bit made me feel like a machinist - which I certainly am not! But I got professional perfect results with this outstanding bit. Deal of the year.

JUNK...came bent and not at all like the photo!
Lousy...lousy...lousy. I bought this back in December of '15 and just now tried to use it...only to discover that it's slightly bent. Mine also came with only an extremely slightly reduced shoulder, so while it works in my press, it doesn't work in my drill. Of course it's too late to return it, but it's a waste of $10. Save your money.

Perfect! Needed a drill bit that could open up a hole that was just .01" too small and this bit was the key. I have only used it a few times, but so far it is very sharp and has yet to loose any of its edge. I will definitely buy from this company again next time I need a specialty bit.

Not at all as pictured-- Not that that would have made any difference.
The 14.5mm drill bit I ordered came in a nice pouch (<-- the only time i will use the word nice in this review).
I specifically need this size to drill and retap for a 16mm thread, and it might have worked, if I bought it from anywhere else.
This garbage came dull. There was literally no sharp edge on it. Pretty much useless. I couldn't start a hole, nor could I safely finish a hole's diameter.
I did try it. I wasn't going to send back this $15 dollar drill bit that I needed. It didn't work, as expected.
I was drilling through an automotive bolt in my car's subframe, most other bits made pretty short work of it. Not this one.
I do not recommend it due to the simple fact that it didn't come sharpened. If you can sharpen your bits and have a jig, go ahead and purchase, I guess. Be aware thought, that despite the name brand being "Drill America" I doubt they were manufactured stateside, so you'll likely still have problems.
This is the first 1 star review I've ever given.

Used this drill bit to drill a bushing out of a farmall super A governor hsg that was made out of cast iron. The throttle arm that goes through the hole was worn out so I used this drill to oversize the hole and insert a new bushing from local hardware store. Worked great. Didn't even use a drill press. Free hand drilled the hole and the bushing tapped right in. Governor works like new now. Don't know how sharp or long it will last as I only needed it for this specific application but it worked great for it. Nice thing was I was able to use in a half inch drill.
