EDIT - Awesome food processor - FOR 6 MONTHS ONLY
I love this food processor! It's nice to not have to spin everything to get it to lock. Looks really sturdy. I like that everything (the grating plate and blade too) store in the unit so I don't have to worry about storing them anywhere. The cord is short, like on most kitchen appliances, but there's a cubby it tucks into. The suction cup feet keep it in place even on a wet counter. I LOVE that it came in a plain cardboard box without a ton of extra packaging. It was packaged securely, but I wasn't having to fill up my trash with styrofoam or plastic bits. Only issue I had was initially taking it apart. The blade inside the machine was stuck and I was nervous to just pull at first. Made sure there wasn't a button or anything from the owner's manual, then just gave it a good yank. It came out and looked like the plastic packaging had gotten it stuck on good. So you can just pull that out, just be careful because it's SUPER sharp.
EDIT: So I've used this for 6 months. Great on almost everything, but today I went to shred white chocolate, and it broke! The plastic piece that holds the grating blade in place just snapped (see photo). It surprised me since I've grated and sliced potatoes, carrots, even tough squash. I send an email to Hamilton Beach since it has a 1-year warranty, but like most small appliances, the warranty specifies that the customer has to pay for shipping to and from the company, AND I'll be out a food processor for Christmas baking season. REALLY disappointed this didn't last longer. Heck, my mom's food processor is older than I am and still going strong!

Awesome - Easy - Great for daily use.
We have used this food processor for one month, and we love it. This processor is replacing a 15 year old model and we don't miss the old one at all. Best features, simple to use, just sit bowl on like a blender, then snap the top on. You don't have to align and twist the pieces together. Unlike other models, this one is a breeze to use and occupies a place of honor on our counter top.
We have made salsa, quick chopped vegetables for stir-fry, grated cabbage for coleslaw, grated and sliced block cheese using the wide mouth opening, mixed pasta dough, and made the best hash browns by grating potatoes dropped through the large mouth opening at the top. The unit had plenty of power for all tasks. When slicing cheese, the slices were thin and even.
About the wide mouth feed tube; You put drop large items in (potatoes, cheese..) and leave about 1/4 at the top for the large black pusher to engage the safety switch. As soon as the safety switch activates, the slicer/grater starts and the large items feed quickly. Simply pull out the pusher, drop in another large item and repeat. The motor has plenty of power to kick start and go to work.
Again, the very simple assembly, (snap snap) and easy cleanup have far surpassed my expectations. The bowl is really large, and you don't have to worry about over filling when doing salsa. We ran five whole red potatoes thru for hashbrowns in just a few seconds - had enough for five people.
Over the last month I've started using the processor at least once every couple days. It whips up a pasta dough in under three minutes start to finish. (Which we set aside to run thru a pasta roller for fresh pasta in many dishes.). I can quickly make sauces, (like a spanish sauce with cooked fresh veggies you server over chicken....)
My only complaint is the cord is short. It seems all new appliances have short cords. This is only an issue when you have several things going on close to the outlets.
We very much like this processor and would not hesitate to purchase again.

The cup for my Cuisinart Food Processor cracked yet again and a replacement was around 40 bucks. I saw this and thought, "Why not?" Having used it for a few days, I can say it has a couple advantages over the Cuisinart:
- Easier to assemble and use - the safety mechanism was a lot simpler to put together
- The blade sits on a spindle, so it's easy to remove - there's no hole left in the middle of the cup like the Cuisinart
- The price/performance - it works just as well and it's a LOT cheaper
- There's a spout at the top for easy pouring, unlike the Cuisinart
I don't know why food processors have to be so expensive - it's basically just a bowl with a blade - glad to find one that was sensibly priced.
- The lid is not watertight, meaning that any liquids will leak out. The cup has a 12 cup capacity, though, so you may not run into this problem.

I bought this nearly a year ago... and was extremely happy with it until I was washing the bar and gave it a good shake off over the sink.
To my surprise, a large dribble of pure black water came out of it!
It was black mold!!!
The water gets stuck in the small hole divit in my 3rd picture and the more I shook it, the more black mold came out.
I feel so ill because I use this quite often and the worst part is that I cannot unscrew it to clean the inside so therefore, I can't use this blade anymore because of the mold.
I am going to call the company to file a complaint and give them awareness of this deadly issue.

This is a really nice machine, It looks great and performs great as well! I make alot of homemade bread, Around 3-5 loafs a week and I hate kneading it by hand, I have sensitive skin and I just loath the feeling of raw flour, yuck!! This thing is perfect for mixing and kneading bread!! I know this machine doesn't come with a real bread "blade" but I tried it out anyway and it works very well for my needs, I just have to give it a quick pat when its done to for a ball and throw it into my loaf pan!!
This thing makes cutting fresh fruits and veggies easy as pie as well! It comes with a cutting blade for those, just pop them into the top and press them onto the blade and you have perfect even sliced pieces of fruit! It's great for fondue when you need to slice up lots of apples and this takes a 30 minute task down to around 5 minutes!!
I also wanted to make a pot of my cheesy potato soap and would normally use my immersion blender to make it smooth and creamy but since this has a sealed bottom bowl I decided to try out this processor to see it would make it even more creamy and get rid of those few chunks that an immersion blender would always miss and I am glad to say it did!! It creamed the soup faster than the immersion blender and it left behind no little chunks in my soup, I'll probably buy another of these just to have on hand in case anything happens to mine because I make that soup all the time, It's one of the families favorites!
All in all this is a fantastic processor and a cheap price. It's built well for it's price and I can see it lasting for along times before it will give anyone problems.. If anything major happens to it in the next few months I will edit the review and update everyone!

This is a good food processor at a great price
This is a good food processor at a great price. It was rated high on BTA-MALL feedback, as well as product comparison sites. Sadly, if you make nut butters, this is probably not the blender for you. My nut butters are not as smooth as my previous food processor. Because of the price, I only knocked it down one star instead of two. It would have influenced my purchase had I known. One joy for me is that my previous food processor couldn't shred cheese without breaking the bowl (seriously!! - food processors 101), so I'm happy to be able to shred cheese again. It's a sturdy appliance.

Cuts and chops lots large quantities easily
My wife loves this unit! We purchased it to replace an aging food processor and picked this one due to a combination of good ratings and inexpensive price point. We've diced vegetables, made bread crumbs, standard stuff - this unit has handled everything we've asked it to do very well. It has plenty of capacity in the 12 cup processor and seems to have plenty of horsepower to chop up stuff. I'd buy this again.

Where have you been all my life!
This is my new favorite toy! I do a lot of canning and food processing at my house, and this sweet machine has been a godsend. It is easy to use, easy to clean up, and does a fantastic job of chopping, slicing, shredding, pureeing, and blending. I love it's large capacity as it makes jobs go so much faster.

In complete frustration I threw away my previous food processor because it would take me 10-20 minutes to get it all lined up properly to actually work! I’ve used this one twice and it is a DREAM! I can actually pull it out, plop in whatever I want processed, click it in place and it actually WORKS! Takes me less than a minute and no frustration or tears. The quality seems decent. I know I will use it a lot now that I have something so inuitive and simple to use and I don’t need to download the product manual to try to line it all up every time I want to use it.

The best food processor out there..
I love it. It's so easy to use. You just stack the parts on top of each other and snap the levers down and it's ready to go. No more trying to twist the bowl around to find the way to lock it. And it works great.
