This filter transformed "dirty" wildlife-inhabited pond water into clean, potable water.
This filter works as advertised - at least as well as filtering out all coliform bacteria. I personally tested this filter with water pumped from an irrigation pond/ hazard at the local golf course. This pond had surrounding trees and grasses inhabited by birds and other critters. I made the assumption that the water contained coliform bacteria but not other hazardous substances since the water contained numerous pollywogs and "water skeeters". It required 50 strokes to fill a pint-sized plastic water bottle. I purchased a "PurTest Home Water Analysis" kit from BTA-MALL and tested this "purified" water. The test results included a negative or zero response on the following: Chlorine, Copper, Iron, Lead, Nitrites, pesticides, and, no coliform bacteria. This filter transformed "dirty" wildlife-inhabited pond water into clean, potable water. I didn't test the pond water to determine content because the Question to be answered was: Using this "purification filter - means 0.01 micron pore size - can I get potable water from a dirty pond source. Answer was yes. I'm very satisfied with this filter and have recommended to my friends that they have one of these available should a Major Event occur that interrupts the city water supply for an extended period - 2 weeks and more.

Must have water filter
Just received my survival filter pro, if you are in the market for a easy to operate water filtration system for camping, hiking, fishing or backpacking look no further. This unit filters to .01 microns. Small in size but comes with huge benefits. The company has the best and I mean best customer service and support. If you have an issue or questions they get back to you very, very quickly. I got this for my bug out bag and could not be happier. Give this a try, you will not be disappointed.

SIMPLE AND AMAZING
My swimming pool is beyond GREEN, full of frogs, and leaves.! So what better water to try? My daughter and I, were amazed when the water pumped into cup was clear, no odor, and tasted as if it was bottled!!! The carry case is small, and does not take up any room. I, think every back pack should have one!

Easy to clean, easy to use, packs well. You really can't ask for much more. The carbon filter works great too. Tested against a Sawyer inline filter in the same leaf ridden water, it tasted like perfectly clean, taste free water while the leaf flavor definitely came through on the Sawyer. Used in water with Giardia warnings with no problems whatsoever. I also love the adjustable floats on the intake pre-filter to keep it clear of the scum on the bottom of the water. I'll continue to test this in the field and update as necessary,

Works even better than I thought
Works even better than I thought! When we were hiking, we decided to try it for the first time in a puddle that was particularly dirty and ended up with water that was perfectly clear and tasted like bottled! It tastes better than the city water that comes from my faucet. It works very quickly as well... I filled a 32 oz collapsible canteen in about 2 minutes. I didn't have to stay bent over either, it came with a long tube with a floaty at the end that kept the pre-filter submerged while I stood and used the handle to pump. Would buy it again for sure!

"This filter works great. Used it last weekend for 4 people on a 4 day kayak trip down the Deleware River. We used it for all the drinking and cooking water and it worked perfectly the whole time. The only thing that would be better is if that the drinking cup was also a measuring cup (for making MRE's, etc), but I just drew them on with a sharpie which worked fine too. Definatly reccomend."

I have not used it in the field yet so I can't comment on ease of use but I like the design
I bought this filter to add to my backpacking gear. The compact size and weight make it ideal for backpacking. I have not used it in the field yet so I can't comment on ease of use but I like the design. The filter is quite easy to access and replace and the pump action is smooth. With the plastic cover in place over the pump handle it should ride well in my pack. That brings me to the one shortcoming that I have noticed. It would be nice to have a hard box or substantial pouch to store the hoses and cotton filter for backpacking. The fabric bag that comes with the until is pretty thin.

Either way, you won’t be disappointed.
For the money it’s a nice setup with everything you need including a multi function cup. It passed my test for functionality when I tried it on the nearest body of water to me, the canal. The canal near us is pretty much stagnant water with much growing in it, its just the type of water you would worry about flesh eating bacteria if you got it in a cut, but the three stage filter passed clean clear water that tasted fine and had no side effects.
I tried to get my wife to try it with me but she told me “Someone has to call 911". She seemed a bit surprised when I didn’t turn (Zombie pun intended).
I had an initial concern about the filter and found that customer support was nothing short of amazing, when they say they back their product 100 percent, they mean in it, but this is evident by just looking at the reviews and their proactive approach.
Either way whether you love it or don’t, you won’t be disappointed

Wise Choice, 5 Stars
5 Strong Stars. I am one Happy Camper. I hike and camp, walk miles to where I want to be and Survivor Filter makes my life in the woods a lot easier. I can't afford to carry any dead weight and water can be a real problem when you backpack. Let's face it This filter is a lifesaver for so many reasons. In this day and age you never know what may happen, natural disaster, Zombie Attack or anything that may cut you off from help for days or even weeks. I think it would be wise to own more than one. When I camp I no longer have to carry a lot of water or those purification tablets that taste like crap. Lightweight, tough and well worth every dime. Let's just make it simple, why take the risk of NOT having pure drinking water in this day and age. Be Wise.

Product works great and the customer service of survivor filters is great too.
Admittedly I have not used this product extensively enough yet to say that the profuct itself is worthy of 5 stars. However, the few times I have used it, I was very imprressed. What is most inpressive is survivor filters customer service. When an error in my order was discovered they worked quickly to correct and even gave me two of their collapsable canteens as an apology. Truthfully the error was more of an amazon issue than a survivor filters error but they corrected it themselves anyway. I will update this as I continue to use the filter but for now I am very happy with the product and the company.
Update: I have used this filter quite a bit now. I've taken it on several backpacking trips. It works great and the water it pumps tastes amazing. However, I'm going to get the survivor filter to take backpacking because this just takes to lomg to set up and pump water. I usually cary 2 1L bottles and hike in the blue ridge mountain range. I typically have to fill up 2-3 times per day each time that takes about 10 minutes each. Often time I pass up water sources because I don't want to stop my momentum to pump water. I would recomend this filter for camping or as a backup should you need to filter water at home. I would recommend the regular survivor filter for backpacking.
