on 2015-03-09 Great cat litter
My wife continues to search for "the best cat litter". The information on this one reads:
"Ten day odor control, immediate and continuous" , after 10+ plus days no issues - TRUE.
"Immediately forms extra hard clumps that are a breeze to scoop and dispose", yes the clumping is great and very easy to clean the box TRUE.
"99% dust free, hypoallergenic low dust formula for sensitive households", yes is does have very little dust- TRUE.
"50% lighter, powerful performance in a lightweight package" I don't totally understand this light weight conversation. I will do a little more testing and get back to you on that one.
"One case contains 3 twelve pound jugs" yes we got 3 jugs in a case delivered to our door from BTA-MALL - TRUE
So far so good on this litter. It may be the best litter but we also like Advance litter sold by BTA-MALL. Advance High Performance Scented Lightweight Multi-Cat Litter Box, 30-Pound

As advertised, who would have thought? :D
This stuff 1) Works. Many fancy new litters, even really expensive ones, don't. 2) Is pretty well dust-free. 3) Is Actually unscented. It's the first one I've tried that actually lived up to that claim. 4) This here deal is nice. Cheaper than going to the store, and I don't have to carry it home!

We have 11 cats so litter is a big deal. I also have asthma and dust is a huge problem. I have resorted to wearing a mask (which fogs up my glasses so I usually go without and you want to see when scooping). I tried this line before but wanted to try the unscented as well. Here's the breakdown:
Dust -- This isn't totally dust free, but it's way better than the cloud that forms with other litters.
Odor control-- I think this is average. It's no better or worse than most of the brands we've tried.
Weight -- It's comparable to other lightweight litter - which I appreciate with our many boxes.
Tracking -- This is a little better than some litters, but it definitely still tracks despite litter mats.
Scooping -- This is where this brand loses. The clumps are firm, but maybe it takes longer to form because we always have several places in each box that are cemented to the bottom of the pan. This is despite different levels of litter and using a metal scoop. I have even thrown litter up in the air because of trying to get material off the bottom. This is very annoying and exhausting after you get to the 5th or 6th box.
If they would fix that, it would get full stars and my loyalty. :-)
We scoop every day, just fyi.

So-so litter may work better when there's only one cat
With four indoor cats, I go through a lot of litter and am always interested in trying new types. My cats, OTOH aren't always as game.
My current favorite has been SmartCat litter, which is made from grass seed and which has no dust, is renewable and clumps exceptionally well. It's also very lightweight. Unfortunately, one of my cats doesn't share my appreciation for it and demonstrated her opinion in a decidedly unacceptable way, by peeing on the bed when I changed over the last litter box to it. So it was back to the Costco stuff (Litter Purrfect), at least for that box, and there haven't been any accidents since.
Enter Cat's Pride Fresh and Light Ultimate. I took a chance and filled one of the boxes with it, and it was a big hit with the cats from the start. Unfortunately, over time I found I was not nearly as fond of it. It tracks a lot worse than the other litters I've used (most notably Litter Purrfect, which I've used the most; also SmartCat and Petco's house brand) probably because of its fine texture. Despite using a very good mat , I was finding it EVERYWHERE, even after sweeping it up again and again. I have no complaints about odor--it's no better or worse than conventional litters. (I loathe scented litters and only use unscented, which this is.)
Unfortunately, it also seems to lose some of its clumping ability pretty quickly, so I had to deal with some broken clumps. And that, inevitably, will lead to odor.
I initially rated it four stars, but I bought two more jugs, and by the time I was down to the last one, I had grown to actively dislike it and couldn't wait to use it up and move on to another brand--one that clumps better and tracks a lot less. It's worth noting that I use a LARGE litter box, and the jug it comes in really only filled it once.
It may be that it will work better for single-cat households, since the litter box where I was using it (I have four) gets a lot of use. But for my situation, I'm done with this product and won't be going back.

I purchased from this product page several times for months, but my last order is completely unlike the previous ones recieved. The new bottle contents are more of a brown sawdust as opposed to the gray litter granules I had been receiving. I don't know if they completely rebranded the product contents, but quite unfair to sell these in 3 packs with no warning of a change. My cat is tracking the new litter all over the house, it doesn't clump as well as it used to, and worst of all: there is NO ODOR CONTROL. I'm going to have to find a new brand.

Only good thing is it's lightweight.
First off I'd like to mention that I've grown up around cats so I'm very familiar with cat products, the only thing this litter has going for it is that it's lightweight,
Oder control, no.... none... zero.
Clumping, minimal, when you scoop a large pee ball and try to shake away the other litter the pee breaks apart and goes back into the litter pan, I use a metal scooper but even with a plastic scooper it still does the same thing,
I would not recommed this litter especially for the price, I'd pay maybe $8 for it, but I'll just go back to the litter I was using prior. Save your money and do not buy this.

Great product: Less smell and easy to use.
My go-to litter was the expensive (and heavy) Dr Elsey's Cat Attract Litter. I used it because my rescue cat had inappropriate urination issues due to neglect. Now that her issues have waned, I was excited to try a lighter, less-expensive litter. Enter Cat's Pride Fresh and Light.
So far, my cat's using the litter as she was Cat Attract. In addition, I've noticed a distinct lessening of litter dust and detritus in the bathroom that hosts her box. While I scoop every day, there is significantly less residual odor than other litters I've used. So I'm very excited about that.
I also love the container. Cat Attract came in a bag and litter always ended up all over my pantry. Cat's Pride comes in an easy-to-life container with a pour spout. Great for quickly adding litter to the box. And the lid keeps it in the container when not in use.
Overall I'm very happy with this product and will be purchasing it from now on!

It was a good deal & I personally liked the scent and convenience ...
It was fresh & light. It was a good deal & I personally liked the scent and convenience of the container. For reasons unknown to me my cat hated it. He pawed at it & kicked a lot of it out of the box before doing his business. I won't be buying it again.

I like it and my tortie cat does too!
I don't think any cat litter will be 100 percent dust free. However this is pretty close. I used to use hartz ph5 that disc and was left at the mercy of dark clay and very dusty litters. My poor cat's fur never felt clean and the dark dust on my floors etc yuck! This is my first scoop able litter. There is a small amount of tracking outside the dome litter box but minimal. I always use cat pan liner bags. That being said so far so good. As long as you intend to keep the box scooped this litter should work well. I used to change litter twice a week. I now change it once a week and fill less in the pan. I think you could stretch changes longer but a week is long enough for me. Cat feels clean and no more dark dust all over my home!

Not as dust-free as advertised
This was a recommended litter, so thought I'd try it as the Boxiecat litter I like is more expensive. What I like is that the litter is lightweight and frangrance-free. what I don't like is the dust and the mess this makes in the house and in the litter box. This made the litter box difficult to clean and resulted in a fine coating of dust on everything in the vicinity of the box.
Back to the more expensive Boxiecat litter!
