Description: The Fotodiox M-Series monolight has key features for professional photographic lighting use. Compact yet powerful, the M-400A comes with a 7" reflector, UV coded flash tube, 150w halogen-modeling bulb, 8' PC sync cord, and a 15' power cord. These lights are fully compatible with all Fotodiox professional accessories (such as reflectors, barn door, snoots, beauty dishes and softboxes) as well as Bowens and Calumet 'S'-Mount accessories, so the options are limitless. The M-Series Monolights were designed by photographers who have worked with digital photography, making them digital friendly for both beginners and professionals.
The aluminum body is constructed for lightweight durability and equipped with fans and an induced draft cooling to prevent overheating. Light modifiers such as softboxes or beauty dishes can also be attached to the monolight by a dedicated Fotodiox / Bowens speedring.
The rear control panel consists of setting buttons, a digital lcd power display, the main power switch, a PC sync socket and a built-in optic slave. The included PC sync socket can be used to cable the light to a camera or light meter or can be used with a remote trigger system. The ready light indicator with optional beep and optional modeling indicator lets you know when the light unit is ready for use and the test button allows you to test the flash without firing the camera. The built-in slave can be used to trigger the light by other flash or infrared sources.
Maintenance tip: Flash tube should be kept clean at all times to avoid degradation of luminosity. When in need of cleaning, wipe with oil-free cloth (ensure that the electricity has been cut off, and unit is cool). If the unit is not in use for long periods of time, maintain the unit every three months by charging and discharging the unit at least three times. This will prevent the capacitor from degenerating.
