Happy with purchase, and with customer service
I recently purchased the Video2Digital converter, with the ultimate goal of getting some old 8mm camcorder tapes on DVD. It arrived well-packaged, sooner than expected, and with everything promised. I am not tech-savvy, and, after reading the user's manual, learned that there would be a few steps more than I anticipated. Here's the best part: I contacted the customer support team via email with my questions, and within a few hours, had a response. Tyler was very helpful in explaining what my next steps should be, and offered continued assistance as I go through the process. I have begun using the converter, with success, and am pleased with my purchase; however, I am blown away by their customer service. And isn't that what it's all about?

This thing works great. I was kind of worried about purchasing this because of all the negative reviews. But after trying it I'm so glad I got it. It is soo easy to use. You turn it on plug in your video source then push play on your source and record on the recorder. Once you decide you want to stop hit the record button again to stop. It does not get any easier than that. The videos get recorded onto a micro SD card which can be removed and inserted into to a card reader. If you don't have a card reader you can plug in the recorder into your computer using supplied USB cable and the memory card shows up in file explorer as a drive letter. The files are saved as AVI format which can be uploaded directly up to YOUTUBE. One thing I notice in the reviews was that some people complained about video not showing up and being jittery on the screen and audio getting a lot of noise. I did experience this when I tried using the 1/8 mini plug AV cable that came with the unit on my Sony HandyCam. So I decided to use the A/V mini 1/8 plug cables that came with my Sony camcorder and the sound and video was crystal clear. So the cables that came with the device was not 100% compatible with my Sony Camcorder. Make sure if you are using the cables that came with Camcorder. If you are using a VCR as a source then the A/V RCA cables that come with the unit are fine. The RCA cables for VCR's (Yellow, White, and Red connectors) are pretty much standard for all VCR's and work. It's the mini 1/8 plug that may have a different pin out and will cause problems if the contacts don't line up. If you own a Sony Handy Cam and you no longer have the video output cables you can find them on BTA-MALL for about six bucks.

Works, but has limitations....
works, but has its limits. I bought this because another product failed to work at all. This product does work, but it has limitations. After hooking up my vcr, playing my tape and hitting record, I have discovered there is a 100 minute limit on how this device works. At 100 minutes, the Clearclick will automatically stop recording and then begin recording and create a 2nd file you will have to deal with. Also regarding your playback. The smaller the screen you view your file on the better. If you stretch it out on a large screen, it is quite viewable, but nowhere near HD digital quality. This is unfortunate if there is writing on signs or something you'd like to read. It can be blurry. The Prism software which does the converting works fine. The Prism burn dvd software is a trial and you must purchase it if you like it. I did since it works together with the Prism conversion software. the other 'game' you must play is to determine which conversion works with your device. I really wish the industry would settle on a universal file format for viewing dvd's. This isn't Clearclicks problem, it is an industry problem. I gave it 4 stars because I'd like it to record 2hrs or even a little longer in 1 file stored.
