For large pores, gotta try it!
It works great! I've always wanted to try steaming my face because I have large pores. That means lots of sebum is stuck in those pores and they are hard to remove. I've tried many things in the past to get them out so that my pores would shrink but nothing has worked as well as this! After the steam, the pores literally opened and let the sebum out on its own. It was running out of my pores!! So glad I've tried this!

PLEASE DO NOT Buy this!
THERE IS NO WAY THIS BRAND STEAMER IS HEALTHY FOR YOUR SKIN!
I have had this steamer for less than one year. In that less than one year, I have used this steamer only a handful of times and after each use I cleaned it and let it dry before storing it.
Today I go to use the steamer and when I fill the tank, I see something floating in the water inside of the steamer (not in the tank!). I began to clean it thinking maybe something had just fallen in it. But the more I cleaned it, the more I saw coming out of it. I finally poured water directly into the heating part of the steamer (where the steam is released) and shook it around a bit and dumped it.
I WAS DISGUSTED! Not only were there things floating in the water, but on the slats you could see MUCH more junk sitting in there.
I decided to open this machine to see what was really going on in there (and of course, there's no easy way to access all points that water goes through for an extra thorough cleaning or to look). I had to take the screws off of it. When I got to the part of the machine that I wanted to see, I was beyond disgusted and angry and could not believe I was about to let this thing blow hot mist on my face!!!
It appears as though they use a paint of some kind inside of the machine where the water is heated and it was peeling and just NASTY!
If you already have this product, PLEASE CHECK IT BEFORE USING IT. If you are looking to buy this product, FIND ANOTHER BRAND!
PICTURES: Anything purple or blue is what either needs to be removed in order to take this thing apart, or to bring attention to the GUNK that I almost let get soaked into my face.
The red shows what screws do NOT have to be removed.
I really want everyone to see how bad this thing is!
OLD REVIEW: Took about 1.5 minutes to start steaming. But once it started it was great.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I purchased this unit after trying a different brand that was constantly breaking. After returning 2 units within 2 weeks, I decided to try a different brand. I found the Pure NanoSteamer to have a superior design (specifically with the water tank) over the pink one with the handle which you see sold under several names here on BTA-MALL. This has much less risk of breaking.
This has a good size water tank which allows for a much longer steam than other units. It takes about 1 1/2 minutes for the steam to start, and lasts about 20 minutes. The hand towel steamer takes a about a minute longer, if using a wet towel. I did not think I would use the towel steamer, but once I tried it, I love it and use it every day to remove cleanser.
The one small negative is the height. It sits too high to use while sitting at my vanity. The steam goes over my head when sitting. It needs to be on a low coffee table, which isn’t practical for daily use. When standing it hits my neck, but I have to bend to hit the face. The solution for me, whether standing or sitting, is to put a towel over head to capture the steam. This makes it very intense steam! I have to come for air a few times, but it feels great. You need a longer towel for this method, the regular hand towel will put you too close to the steam. You don’t want to get burned, so get something bigger. I found that a 20 x 31†Turkish cotton hand towel works perfectly.
Regarding essential oils… I believe most manufacturers are saying not to use essential oils, and yet we all want to use essential oils with our steamers. So the following is my opinion only, based on my experience. This is not any sort of recommendation. Ignoring the manufacturer’s recommendations is something you do at your own risk. But I use 5 drops of eucalyptus oil in my steamer. I’ve been doing this twice daily for over 2 months and have not had any issues. I do clean it every week or 2 with a vinegar/water solution to avoid any buildup of the oils.
BTW, I have NOT been compensated for this review. I researched and purchased the item I wanted and paid full price.
After nearly a year, my NanoSteamer died. It might sound strange, but I bought the same steamer again to replace it. Even though it only lasted about a year, I used it daily, sometimes twice daily. So I got a lot of use out of it. And for the price, I feel like it was a good deal. I did look around some to see if there was anything new out there which I might like better. But the NanoSteamer had the features I want, and I know that it works great. This time I will not use essential oils in the steamer. That may be the reason it eventually stopped working, I don't know. But I found an even better way to use them, without adding them to the steamer. I put just a drop of eucalyptus oil on a cotton pad and, using tweezers so I don't burn my fingers, I hold the cotton into the steam. I get a lot more of the eucalyptus vapor, using just one drop of oil, than I previously did adding 5 drops to the steamer. I think this is a good solution for those like myself who really want or need to use essential oils.
The newer model I received also came with some "free" skin care tools. "Free" in quotes, because the price has actually gone up $10 since the last time I purchased. I would have preferred the lower price and skip the tools I won't use. But I'm still very happy with the NanoSteamer and still feel it is the best option out there, unless you want to spend a few hundred $$ for a professional system.

It doesn't provide much steam at all as it advertised.

Where have you been all my life?!
Absolutely in love with this thing! Iv been using it every other night. It's so nice and relaxing, if you're into that kinda thing. My skin routine is on point I start with the steamer, use hyaluronic acid serum, and Olay Regenerist. Lots and lots of water.

Shoots boiling water randomly at my face
Was great the first time I used it but the 2nd time, it shot boiling water at my face! As much as I love 3rd degree burns on my face, this is not the product for me...

Don't let the pseudoscience fool you into thinking this product is unique
Steamer works great. It gets 3/5 stars because they emailed me wanting a review, so fine here are my thoughts. The product functions, however, as a scientist their marketing is a joke. "Nano" is a prefix meaning one order of magnitude larger than an Angstrom, the scale of most molecules. I can assure you there is nothing "nano" about the water in here, nor is it clear why that is helpful (hint: it wouldn't be). Further, the water is not "negatively charged". There is no strong base in this machine that is deprotonating the water. It runs at neutral pH, therefore the water is definitely uncharged as a whole. It would actually be dangerous for your skin if you were applying a base, imagine steaming draino to your face, that is "negatively charged water". Again, the product functions fine, it steams your face. That is all I wanted, something relaxing to open up my pores without a long shower. This succeeds in that way, but I seriously hate when companies use pseudoscienc to trick people into thinking their product is superior. I bought this because the price was right and other reviews suggested proper functioning.

Clean yo face and moisturize!
I got this a couple days ago because winter is coming.... And my skin gets super dry so I need to take that extra step for my pores to absorb the moisturizer better. I used it yesterday night and I'm impressed. The only thing that's bad is that if you get too close the steam gets uncomfortably hot, almost to the point it's scalding. Make sure your face is about 10in away from it.
Some tip: Use your face cleanser while you're steaming. You'll feel that super clean feeling afterwards. Also use it when you're applying your creams/oils/serums. My face REALLY ABSORBED the products that I normally use much better than before. My face was glowing today as if I had a mini facial. I think it's best to be used before bed.

Seems to work well for cystic acne
I love this thing! I've only been using it for three days but I think its already helping my cystic acne. I like to steam for a bit, extract, steam again, and while still steaming, wipe my face with something antibacterial like orange blossom water. Then, while staying close to the steamer to keep my pores open, I apply a homemade mix of argan oil, rose hip and calendula essential oils. My face is clearing right up!

Far beyond expectations!!
This is amazing!! I was expecting a light amount of heat and mist but this has super hot thick moisture and by the end I'm drilling in sweat getting all those toxins out of my pores. Love it so relaxing and therapeutic the time flies by. Some people say the angle is bad but u can literally hold it in your lap at a desired distance and the mist sprays upwards.
