It works..only thing that gets me out of bed without snoozing
really happy with my ruggie. Saw it on kickstarter and thought it was really cool. As promised It's been effective in getting me out of bed (when I usually snooze my phone 3 times). Also like the quality, it feels comfy to stand on.

Woke me up right away and stayed awake
Only had this product for a few days and it is really working out well for me. It looks just like the pictures and is just as soft as advertised. I was afraid it wouldn't be loud enough but that was not the case, it woke me up right away and I stayed awake. For someone like me I recommend that you set up the advanced settings to change how long you need to stand on it for it to turn off and the times of the alarms.(3 seconds is the factory setting, I changed it to 12 seconds) The advanced settings are really easy to use. Super happy with my purchase.

I actually get out of bed and get going! Well worth the money. No more hitting snooze. Wish I had found this earlier.

Little difficult to program and plainly see AM vs. PM and if the Alarm is on/off.

Ultimately it was returned. Good concept but not without issues and at least one glaring oversight
I wasn't aware of this product's Kickstarter campaign but happened across it on BTA-MALL. Although I thought the price seemed high, I purchased one for my wife's birthday gift.
The first thing that seemed...well, I don't want to say 'sketchy' but I guess I just did...is that this product, which its webpage touts as getting mentions or coverage on a great many national networks and publications, had not a single review on BTA-MALL at the time I ordered. Not one. And not the white version, either. (There are several now.) I took a chance.
Since I'd ordered this item as a gift, I was very disappointed that it arrived in a plain white cardboard box with only the trademarked name on it. I'm not sure whether the Ruggie is sold at brick-and-mortar stores or not, and if not the sellers may think it doesn't 'need' a retail box, but at this price point it deserves one. A hundred dollar alarm clock, and the manufacturer won't spring for color packaging? I don't think this is splitting hairs because this is the type of item likely to be purchased as a gift. Unless the recipient asked for the product or happens to know what a 'Ruggie' is, it's a bit awkward both for the recipient (and others sitting around watching him or her open gifts) to have no idea what the product is, and need an explanation from the gift giver. At least I found it was awkward for us.
The concept is good and the alarms are loud. We didn't get as far as trying the 'advanced options' accessible via the USB interface. The memory foam seems good quality and the sensors worked well when my sons and I tested before wrapping.
But not only is there no way to adjust the clock without taking apart the product (I'm reasonable-- this should be expected due to the nature of the product), it is only possible to set one alarm at a time. There is no provision to set the day of the week and have different alarm times for weekdays and weekend days, like virtually all other alarm clocks made today. At least for my wife I think the idea of turning the alarm off, or resetting it, every Friday evening and turning it back on Sunday evening would get old reeeeaaaaalllllllyyyyyy fast. And if that were overlooked it could be a disaster on Monday.
My grandfather used to have a bedside alarm clock made for the hard-of-hearing; it had a wired pad which was placed between the user's mattress and box spring and connected to a jack on the clock. It vibrated with or instead of the audio alarm. That was a great product, and I think this would be even better if part of a system that included a bedside clock which controlled the mat component via a wireless/Bluetooth connection: the time would continuously viewable, and the alarms easily controlled. I think this should be achievable at the $100 price point.
People who get up at the same time every day and find this an effective way to get out of bed may love this. And after some more searching I now see that there's a very similar product from a company called Witwatia-- and that it's 60% of the price of the Ruggie and also has better reviews. But I think our household is about finished with rug-as-alarm clock concept for the time being.

Awesome gift idea
I am so excited to receive my Ruggie! I saw this on Ellen and thought that this was a genius idea. I'm not a morning person at all--definitely one of those who hits the snooze button multiple times and is chronically late. But this has improved my morning routine and as a result my mornings are much better. It makes me get up out of bed and get on with my day. As a result, I'm able to accomplish much more.
I also liked how soft it was and how I could easily read the time. Finally, I especially liked the packaging. I think this would be a great gift for other morning-haters like me.
