Accurate, good design, easy to use and has protective pouch.
Good feel and function. Easy to use with no problems. Nice design and very accurate also. Lightweight and comes with a decent hip pouch. Very useful for many applications and is built with good quality.

Good for the money, but there is better out there if you wanna pay for it
This works for ranging as advertised. Just make sure you are scanning in open air, no obstructions, like through the front windshield or car window. Appears to work in ranges under 400 yards. I have not ranged anything farther because I can't even see that far. It also appears to get the incline and decline correct. Like other reviews state, the reticle is hard to see in low light (sunrise/sunset) conditions, but at this price range I don't think you are gonna get anything like that without spending a ton more $$$.
4 stars only because the range finder itself feels "plasticky", like if I were to drop it hard onto the ground it will just exploded into a bunch of pieces. The adjustable eye piece is also plastic, so be careful making your adjustments. 2 button operation makes working the XRT7 easy. The illumination (red) option of the display is a nice bonus to help in those low light or no light conditions. I was able to range from 5 yards up to 400 yards. Pretty much only as far as I can see with the naked eye. Option to also change from yards to meters if you need to. Comes with a carrying case, long lanyard with a hook, and cleaning cloths.
I don't ever plan to make shots past 300....why? Cause I can't even see that far, even with a good scoped object. Spend more $$$ to get a range finder from the big boy brands and you will get better glass (clarity) and farther distance ranging. But let's be honest, can you even see that far and are you and your equipment good enough to make a 1000k yard shot?
However, at the price point of the Halo XRT7, you can't go wrong, especially if you are just starting out.

very great and very true to the yards
It is accurate out starting at 15 yards as the company stated seems to be right on if you lay a tape measurer out and started at 15 yards now I have used this for up to 60 yards and it seems to be dead on and for the others who say they couldn't see the writing try focusing it in to your sight I couldn't at first till I played with the focus to my eyes it's numbers is clear as they can be so this was one big thing I saw on other reviews so focus the eye piece some this will bring it in to view for you I have nothing against this product the company seems to stand behind there equipment they sale they told me if I was at 15 yards measured out then it should be dead on give or take one yard but mine seems to be dead on thanks

Just received and tested this product. clear optics, plus has RED led mode. slope option, scan option. Does have problem with branches. Only those who hunt in dense woods may find it unsuitable. For the price and features I think it is a good value. Most rangefinders in this price point have trouble reading display in low light, think the RED led option makes this one best in its class.

Angle compensation works well!
This rangefinder works well. Ranging the same target multiple times produces very little measurement difference. I have ranged transmission lines towers over 260 yards. I have not attempted to find the maximum range of the device.
I was unable to find much information about this rangefinder online, so I will attempt to describe its features.
There are four modes, actual distance in yards, angle compensated distance in yards, actual distance in meters, and angle compensated distance in meters. In the 'actual' modes, the line of sight distance is reported. In the 'angle compensated' modes, the angle is displayed and the horizontal distance is reported (cosine for you math geeks). While in a tree stand, the unit reported an actual distance to the ground of 9 yards and an angle compensated distance of 0 yards (@ 89 degrees).
Pressing the power and mode buttons simultaneously turns on the red backlight.

it worked fine. I ranged a couple deer out to 250 ...
I purchased this item last summer (August 2016). I bought it to replace another rangefinder that I lost while deer hunting. I used this range finder during hunting season, it worked fine. I ranged a couple deer out to 250 yards. I also used the rangefinder a few times during the fall golf season. It worked well enough; difficult to spot and hold on pins, but easily point at the green and obtain a yardage. This spring, I also used the unit a few times, and it worked fine. Beginning in early June, I tried to use the range finder, and it will only range out to 60 yards or so. I thought perhaps it was a bad battery, so I replaced the battery with a brand new battery, but still the same results.
I guess I will chalk it up to a lesson learned. This was basically a $110 mistake. I won't be buying Halo brand again, as they don't appear to make a quality product, and they don't appear to back up their product with any type of warranty. I would think a device like this should certainly last longer than a year. My previous rangefinder that was 5 years old still worked flawlessly, until I lost it.

Nice ranger for the money....
It's a nice range finder it works well for my needs as a bow hunter the only issue I have with it is that the display is not very bold and bright and can be hard to read at that magic hour when it's starting to get dark other wise I would give it a 5 star rating

Really like them! I ordered two
Really like them! I ordered two. Easy to operate. Since my son and I do a lot of hunting from a tree stand, we like how it compensates for the angle and height. It’s nice to have a tool to help keep you sharp on judging distance. Especially when you bow hunt.

Awesome little rangefinder
Awesome little rangefinder. My husband loves it. Says that it is accurate and super convenient to slide in his pocket for hunting. Would reccomend this brand to hunters or hikers.
