OK gi - needs improvement
I've worn a few different tatami kimonos for a few years now, and wanted to branch out into a new manufacturer. I'm OK with this gi, but it's 3rd in line.
Some minor issues make it worse than the tatami, but some people may not have the same issues I do. The drawstring is a flexible material (like most mma shorts) which is not appropriate in my opinion for a gi when you can grab pants and leverage against the string. I've cranked the string very tight and had it come lose during a tough match. This never happened with my tatami. Also, the gi does not have the same belt retention that the tatami gis have. My hacket is almost always out of the bely by end of roll - doesn't happen with the tatami. This might be food for a person who rolls with more active lapel attacks than me. But for me I don't like it.
The materials and color are really quite nice and it fits as expected.

Impressive, most impressive
I just received my gi today. First thoughts, I liked that it came shipping in a durable plastic bag thing. I ordered the grey color and it looks a slight darker than depicted but that's cool w me. It feels like top quality material and design.
I'm 6'5 215lb and I ordered a size A3 even though the chart recommended A3L for me. A3 was all they had in stock so I took the chance. A little tight in the armpits but other than that it fits like a glove. The pants are a couple inches above my ankle but I like a traditional look so it's perfect for me. I also don't like a ton of logo or endorsement patches, Hayabusa is a great design and I recommend this gi to martial artists interesting in grapple work or casual wear.

Pants need bjj suspenders
Let me first say, the Kimono is Five Stars all damn day. It doesn't go straight up your armpit like most bjj kimonos go. Once worn a few times its just better and better. I got a size up to have it actually shrink to size and have a little more room. Absolutely a great kimono.
The pants are and will be your worst problem. Dont get me wrong, the weight, fit, feel and looks are spectacular. BUT, for some reason, no matter what you wear underneath and no matter how tight I tie the drawstring these manage to slip down your backside. I also use this Gi for Karate as I like a heavier than cotton weight and its still perfect for summer useage. This isn't too heavy and it breathes well. Five stars for comfort, fit and durability. It also doesn't shrink too much (I accidentally put it in the dryer on warm tumble) or fade/lose stitching. I'd pay the 99$ just for the kimono personally as its non restrictive and doesn't choke your pits to death. I just wish they would focus on the ride of the pants and their mobility.

Great Fit for the Athletic Build
The lightweight Hayabusa gis (I also have this in gray) are awesome, especially for training in the Florida heat. At the time of purchase, I weighed in at 195 pounds at 5'10", 46" chest. The A3 fits well after a semi-warm wash and I gave the pants a little dryer time (~15 minutes on low). Not much I can ever do about the waist, but the length is great and the top fits well without much extra material to worry about. I have yet to have any issues with the "lightweight" material ripping or anything like that, and the gi looks amazing.

Great gi. No shrinkage after wash and dry.
Great summer weight gi. The jacket is extremely soft and comfortable. Not stiff like my other gis. I am 5'9" 155 and the A1 is a good fit. Appropriate length in the sleeves and pants. Skirt is a little shorter than expected but not short enough to be an issue. Slightly slimmer cut than average. After being washed on hot and machine dried several times the pants had zero shrinkage and the jacket had very very mnimal shrinkage. If you're like me and hang-drying isn't an option, this gi is great. No need to size up. Random side note: this gi is very very white. Whiter than my other gis. Like the difference of looking at something under an incandescent bulb vs a daylight bulb.

Could easily be $50 more expensive and would still be a bang for your buck
Super comfortable, durable, and doesn't restrict my movement at all. So light it just feels like a tee shirt and sweatpants. Looks sharp as well gotten a lot of compliments from my training partners. Even came with some cool goodies, a bag, keychain, etc. It's my first Hayabusa product of any kind but i'm sure i'll be buying some more stuff in the future now that I know how good their product quality is!

I am 72" tall, 74" reach, 34" inseam, 205lbs muscular. The A3 fits well. I have not machine dried to prevent shrinking. The Gi air dries quickly which is nice. I purchased in hopes this would provide a noticeable difference in heat from my thicker gi but I can't tell a difference, I still sweat like crazy. Still, the material and construction appear high quality and I like the look and feel of the weave. The belt rope material and loops are nicer than previous gis I've used. I am completely satisfied with this gi.

I was so excited to see that this gi was back in stock in my size (a3). I originally bought a white one a few months back and it's still my favorite gi. The demand for this gi has gone through the roof and rightfully so I thought. That original gi was a perfect fit and the materials were really top notch. Unfortunately, the gi I just received fails to even come close to the first one I bought. It's really flimsy feeling and seems like the top and bottoms are completely different. The top is baggy with much shorter sleeves and the bottom has a really small inseem that makes it hard to even squat in. Seems like the high demand has made the hayabusa source additional fabricators that may be using inferior materials in comparison to their earlier versions. I am very disappointed but hopeful that this great brand can turn things around.

As with most Gi's, I wish they made a "slim" model. I'm 6'1", 190 and it fits me fine but it's for my 12 year old 6' 130lb son and it's unnecessarily baggy. He's used to it though and the light but durable material is really great plus it doesn't hold stink.

Consult the sizing chart and buy a size up. I'm a pretty standard athletic build and I was not able to move well in the pants they suggested.
